I'm experiencing higher prices and many things from overseas I can't buy anymore because of the repeal of the de minimis exemption. I stocked up on coffee and products I use from Canada but they'll eventually run out.
I am not seeing any benefits.

Everything is more expensive. Some of the increases are subtle some are drastic. But it affects everything. Groceries, small appliances, large appliances, cars, etc. And the usually stores are reflecting it. So shoping at Walmart, Costco, Target, Best Buy, the grocery stores, gas pump, etc. you will see it. And going out to dinner? Sheeeesh!

The Cambridge Audio CD đŸ’¿ player I thought about buying last year for $300 now costs $450. It’s an English brand.

I am a personal shopper in the EU working with clients in the United States. I used to get luxury items cheaper here and ship them to customers all around the US. At times the stores here like Prada and Gucci would ship the items directly to the client and I wouldn't have to do a thing except help process the payment. The duty for a leather handbag was 9%. Things were beautiful. I didn't make crazy money, but enough to enjoy my life. NOW since Trump's liberation day, the duty for a leather handbag is 24%! Stores have stopped shipping items to the US because of the confusing import process. And the dollar is shot once it was downgraded and things pretty much cost the same here as they do in the US. So clients really have no reason to shop with me. Last year around this time 3000€ = $3150, now 3000€ = $3525. So yeah, the tariffs pretty much fucked my life.

I panic bought a bunch of high priced items just before midnight on the night before "Liberation Day" or whatever the fuck it was called when the tariffs were scheduled to go into effect. And then when he called it all off, I returned it all. In the space where the retailer asked my reason for making the returns, I wrote simply "Trump."

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
