The Emmys should be coming up soon. I enjoyed The White Lotus but found tv to be mostly boring this past year.

Shawn Hatosy (The Pitt) and Merritt Wever (Severance) won the awards for best drama guest actor and actress at the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys. Both well deserved! This is Wever’s third Emmy. Maybe she will win a fourth next year for The Gilded Age!

The Dance mom character was so stupid and annoying.

I dont understand the Wever win. Found her very flat in Severence.

I agree that it was a stupid, annoying character, but the other nominated actresses are annoying people (except Colman).

Everything about the content of Hacks is so try-hard-and-largely-fail.
But I love Jean Smart, and Julianne Nicholson is one of those performers I've enjoyed wherever she's popped up for more than 25 years.

Julianne Nicholson was a scream in that character. Had never (knowingly) seen her before. "Hacks" is the best comedy/dramedy ever.
r6 went to a State School.

Merrit Wever is great. She was fantastic in Nurse Jackie.

I've only seen Merrit Wever in her one episode guest star spot on GIlded Age.
Where whe really didn't have much to do.
Though it was funny when her much thinner sister schemed to get Merrit's character to wear a different dress so she arranged an "accident" to happen to Merrit's dress and then the thinner sister offered up her own dress "with some quick alterations" even though the two characters were two extremely different sizes.

Merritt Weaver is one of those actors that will suddenly win an Oscar when the right role comes along.

She will always be "Suzanne" to me. She had about ten lines in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and stole every scene she was in.
She is terrific in "Unbelievable" with DL fave Toni Colette. That's a great watch if you haven't seen it. (Netflix)

Wever brought incredible warmth to her role in Severance, it radiated off the screen in waves. Very well deserved.
