Sam Altman, Tim Cook, and other tech leaders lauded Trump at a White House AI dinner
Sam Altman: "Thank you for being such a pro-business, pro-innovation president. It's a very refreshing change," Altman said to Trump over dinner. "I think it's going to set us up for a long period of leading the world, and that wouldn't be happening without your leadership."
Mark Zuckerberg: During the dinner event, Zuckerberg thanked Trump for hosting and said that "all the companies here are building huge investments in the country in order to build their data centers and infrastructure to power the next wave of innovation."
Tim Cook: "I want to thank you for setting the tone such that we could make a major investment in the United States and have some key manufacturing, advanced manufacturing here," Cook said during Thursday night's dinner event. "I think that says a lot about your focus and your leadership and your focus on innovation."
"I also want to thank you for helping companies around the world," he added. "This is a very key, key thing, and I really enjoy working the administration on those topics as well, because I think they're so important to the country. I want to thank the First Lady focusing on education."
Sundar Pichai: Google CEO Sundar Pichai recently announced that the company will commit $1 billion to education and job training in the US. During the task force meeting, Pichai also announced that $150 million of the billion-dollar fund will be dedicated toward AI-focused grants.
Bill Gates: Despite disagreeing over funding cuts, Gates thanked Trump for his "incredible leadership" over the White House dinner and said that people at that table are "changing the world."

Those who oppose him are increasingly becoming the minority and come off as anti-America.

You can't say you support "meritocracy" when you promote airheads like Pete Hegseth and Alina Habba
Cutting funding for science and medical research does not promote "innovation"

Oh for fuck's sake, it's not news that the wealthy, corporate executives, and technocracy are sucking up to Trump. Of course they are, and it would be weird if they weren't. That's how they get favors, perks, and how they avoid Trump's petty grievance moves. Sucking up to "the boss" is a tale and a tactic as old as corporate time. Grow up and stop acting like it's abnormal or outrageous in any way, shape, or form.

If I were a billionaire, I'd kiss Trump's ass too. He's the first president since Herbert Hoover who really understands that only the wealthiest among us deserve government largess. If a few million people die from easily preventable diseases, it's worth it so a billionaire can deduct that helipad on their yacht as a business expense. And who doesn't need another mansion in the most expensive zip codes?

Isnāt that the point of having an āenormous personal fortuneā (more than you could spend in 20 lifetimes)? You tell him to piss off.
Now as āhead of a huge enterpriseā, if Trump tanks it which he is wont to do as he is petty and vengeful, well would that be blamed on you? The fallout, people losing jobs or being taken over by a bigger sociopathic capitalist, companies fail or merge every day. Sure itās YOUR company but try to your own ego out of it. Maybe it will inspire others to act. Or maybe Trump will back down as he has been known to do when he is personally confronted because he is basically a coward underneath his bully suit.

Smoke and mirrors for the mediocre. This mischaracterization is only ever advanced by those completely lacking individual merit, accomplishment, ingenuity and/or success. American Democracy has never impeded any WHITE man in his pursuit of his full potential, and in many instances, has enabled them to rise far beyond their level of incompetence.
[quote] Whereas capitalism rewards talent and hard work and inspires innovation.

Trump asked Mark Zuckerberg how much money he planned to invest in the coming years in the U.S.

Moments later, a hot mic caught Zuckerberg leaning over to Trump and saying: āI wasnāt sure what number you wanted to go with.ā

I think Bill Gates bothers me the most. He's had his day and is supposed to be in his doing good era. While I'm glad he criticized the funding cuts, praising Trump for his "incredible leadership" is something he knows damn well is not only a lie, but a major and significant one. If he wanted to be polite, all he had to do was thank him for hosting the dinner and make some other kind of meaningless praise like some decoration in the WH looks good, "That is an interesting piece of art. Did Melania decide on that?" and other stupid small talk. Ugh.

This is so disgusting - it makes me feel physically ill. I need to buy a new phone and iPad this year (both are 5 years old and the batteries don't last long now). I have always had Apple products because I work corporate and am sort of forced to - but I'm really going to look at all the available options this time. I would prefer not to purchase any Apple products again. First the gold iPad and now this.
Tim Cook and these people/corporations can't just do whatever they want endlessly and expect to retain their loyal customer bases. As we all know from Tesla - things can change dramatically, in a very short period of time even if you are the dominant market force.
