What did Della Reese and Roma Downey think of his homosexuality?
These two bible thumpers look like they'd be very judgmental of him.
A gay angel??? Never!

I forgot that he died so young, at 47. He was so handsome.

He died of a heart attack, but had a previous drug problem, right?

Did you watch the show OP? It was very liberal. And they did pro-gay episodes.

I know some people believe all Christians are exactly like the Westboro Baptist Church. In their minds people are either non-Christian or Westboro. There are no other options and nothing in between.

Della Reese was a new thought minister with a church in West Hollywood that was full of gays so she had no problem with gay people. I went there a couple of times. It was fun and she was a hoot.

R8 Great location. Dolores Park right outside your front door.

He was so cute. The only reason I ever watched that crapfest.

Della wasn’t a stuffy woman at all. She was friendly to everyone, smoked pot and loved her church and her husband above all else.
I don’t know how Roma Downey feels about anything. I can see her being overly serious, but not hateful.

Roma Downey is an insufferable Catholic cunt, married to asshole Mark Burnett. You know, the person who legitimized Trump as a serious businessman on The Apprentice.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 5, 2025 9:39 PM |
Roma’s heart is filled with love.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 5, 2025 9:49 PM |
And cunt R14.

Roma looks stupid with her carefully pointed foot.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 5, 2025 9:53 PM |
Roma can't be anything less than 100% MAGA being married to Mark Burnett all these years. She's clearly of the fascist wing of the Catholic Church.

Tim Reid is open about the fact he was Della’s kept man when he moved to Hollywood, which I find fascinating.
Wonder if she had the skunk doo “down there.”

I loved an old sketch from In Living Color back in the day, it was a mock commercia for a product called "Della Reese's Pieces" which was food that Della Reese had started eating but hadn't finished.

It's been long rumored that Blair Underwood was Aretha's back in the day.

She's super religious but she did an evangelical campaign with her husband which differentiated itself from other forms of Catholicism by being accepting of everyone, including gay people.
She also came out and praised the old people for supporting gay people.
But that was a while ago, who knows how she feels now especially knowing her husband supported Trump.

The old people? I mean the old pope.
Sorry, I got confused with Touched by An Angel's core audience at the time.

R5, this is exactly what Rosie says about Burnett.

I’ve noticed Catholics have two speeds. Tolerant or hypervigilant.
I guess there just aren’t enough of them around here for me to get a better read.

I liked Tracy Morgan as Della.

I love watching that show just for the pure camp of it. But also because I grew up where it was filmed while it was being filmed there. Quite a few times we stumbled upon locations where they were shooting an episode although we never tried to really get a glimpse of the stars or anything. I think the whole show and crew was probably pretty gay friendly especially given the guest stars. The fact that they had Delta Burke, Nell Carter, rue McClanahan and Faye dunaway in the same episode says that some gay man was making the casting decisions.

R21, thank you. That was a nice reply.
I knew she was Catholic and I knew that Rosie O’Donnell called her the devil, but I never thought she was hateful or targeted towards any group.

Did Faye play a demon?

🤣 almost. Delta Burke’s psychiatrist.

I also liked the episodes where Jasmine Guy would show up as the evil corrupting angel vamping around and glowing purple.

He was a handsome man.

Or someone who was a glutton for punishment, hiring 3 mentally ill women (plus Rue).

R33 I think R32 has the answer to that one.

He guessed there twice on murder she wrote I think you're one of the episodes he's a waiter named Andy. So like he was probably Andrew before he became death.

He guesses what twice and where?

[quote] What did Della Reese and Roma Downey think of his homosexuality?
Reese referred to him as her "angel boy" and said whatever was NOT right for him here has been fixed in Heaven. I believe she meant his addiction issues not his homosexuality. At least we know she believes he went to Heaven. Her own ministry was gay-tolerant just shy of being gay-accepting.
