Optics very bad for Trump. Xi, Putin and Modi in buoyant good health and mutual esteem, winning world headlines. Trump was nearly an hour late for his own presser, looked old and harassed, his dishevelled hair never worse. The very definition of on the slide.

The man would sooner die on camera in front of the world than resign.

Trump did not look in robust health, but he obviously he survived his alleged stroke. (If he had a stroke.) My mother was his age and survived a stroke without access to the medical care he had.

Strokes happen to old people. They are not a good sign for longevity. But with access elite healthcare, stoke victims can recover and future strokes prevented. The next month will be critical. I expect a recovery to where he was in early August.
