What the fuck is going on with my right eye?
I woke two days ago with several persistent dark "floaters" in my right eye and a viscous veil that float across my line of sight every few seconds accompanied by flashes of light.
My eye doctor opened his office on his day off to ensure I didn't have any retinal damage and said I have PVD, Posterior Vitreous Detachment.
Two days later I still have the floaters, although no new flashes of light. I have a follow up appointment with a retina specialist in a month and was told to avoid vigorous exercise.
This sucks, I have one persistent dark cobweb that repeatedly drifts into the center of my vision.
This is supposedly a common condition among the old. So here I am where the old folks are, tell me about your experiences with this fun potentially permanent vision damage.

My husband had it in one eye. The floaters got better quickly and his vision is fine. They said that if you have it in one eye, it's likely to occur in the other, so keep an eye out for similar symptoms and run to the doctor if you have them.

Were you poked in the eye with a wiener at the gloryhole?

You have a detached retina - you should go to an ophthalmologist IMMEDIATELY. (unless you want to go blind in that eye...)

It's very likely eye cancer, OP. Be sure to get your tumour markers checked, stat.

I had a viscous veil in my left eye, went to the emergency room and had a CT scan that showed an aneurysm next to the optic nerve. Not something to take lightly.
