R19 The Larry sanders show was somewhat successful but that poster isn’t wrong. S&C made HBO popular in ways no previous show had done, and Oz to a lesser extent. Then Sopranos came along and it was certifiable the best most adult shows on television. They were cultural revolutions. It was no longer tv, it was HBO.
