Summer tourist season for 2025 is winding down, and the numbers at Yellowstone and other National Parks are disappointing. Tourists were visiting, but ditching the expensive on-site lodging at the park (one family said they booked a less-expensive Air BB a few miles away), the souvenirs, the tees, and dining at the park. Of course that's where these parks make their profit (admission fees usually cover the operational costs), and it doesn't appear to be a profitable year when tourists are keeping their wallets closed.
