He did also just post about the Covid vaccines this morning (in a post that actually sounds like him). He wants to be reassured that they work. It also sounds like he's having second thoughts about Bobby Kennedy.
The take I've seen is that he's trying, with typical T-Rump double-talk, to get some distance from the dumpster fire in HHS and the health crisis that everyone see RFK Jr precipitating. But whether or not he personally authored the tweet in question, it's very weird that the recent photo is so blurry and he's not stopping to talk to the press. His team is certainly trying to wait out some physical impairment.

The maximum age for running for US president should be 62, or 66 if you agree beforehand to only serve one term. That way, you'll leave office at 70 at the oldest. In fact, that works out quite neatly - exactly double the minimum age you can run (35).

Forget the rally speech. The best proof-of-life they could do would be him standing in the East Wing doing a presser for 30 minutes. We've only seen him sitting, behind the Resolute desk, and in blurry photos that might or might not be him on his VA golf course (and are seemingly only from one photographer).
It's not even that they're faking it. It's that they're that inept. Christ Jesus, we don't have many guardrails left.
Except, [R36] ... partisan Democrats LOVED "Mighty Joe" Biden!
I won't argue that Biden has some issues. But look at the stuff he's put out this weekend. With an acknowledged cancer diagnosis, he's out and about, enjoying himself. He should never have run for a second term, but he was probably a lot less feeble overall than Trump in 2024, if not in 2020 as well.
Biden has basic dementia that comes with aging, which was exacerbated by a stressful job. Trump has the best medical care in the world, and look how he's been eight-ish months in.

No one can evaluate his health without access to him. Castro lived for around 10 years after he was thought to be at death's door; let's not forget the near-death, but never-dying, Putin.
[bold]Observing those around him reacting at this time is telling. Rick Wilson and others noted the following:[/bold]
>>>JD Vance openly states that he is ready for the job anytime.
>>>Rick Wilson discusses the buzz among people in Washington, including Vance's recent aggressive actions. Stephen Miller is fawning over Vance during a visit to New York, which is at the 21:40 mark on the video below.

Sane observations of Trump's health can be found on this thread by Adams Cochran. He notes --
>>>The dragging leg, bruised hands, and swollen ankles, and how the White House has been untruthful about them.
>>> The odd, consistent timing of some bruising appears monthly around the 24th.
When Trump came out to play golf this weekend, [bold]the press was kept far away from him at the White House. And was not allowed to see him play golf. The White House then released pictures of him from earlier this year. [/bold]
Did not stray far from White House despite the long weekend. Probably, because of the WH's health unit and proximity to Walter Reed.
He's expected to recover from whatever happened.

I can’t quite subscribe to VOTN’s psychic “feeling” but something has gone wrong / is going wrong with Trump medically and it sure does give a Lib some hope.
The main “macro” clue in all of this is his recent avoidance of the cameras and of the microphone. Trump has become a man reluctant to be seen and heard, live and candidly. This is a radical departure from everything he has been until now.
Prolific tantrums on Truth Social, posted with who knows whose fingertips, don’t count.

By all means, be as skeptical as you want. I’m not entirely sure what I think is going on. And I’m going to say again, I do not claim any kind of clairvoyance here. But something feels deeply off right now.

In a Substack posting from yesterday, Garrett Graff, formerly of Politico, totals up the issues raised by all of this.
He notes, as everyone should, that Trump has always lied or provided the least amount of information possible about his health. The explanation for his bruised hands (constant handshaking!) is obviously ludicrous, since the bruising has been appearing regularly on both hands. The swollen ankles were not only addressed in the most perfunctory way possible but the WH physician wouldn't take questions from the press. Who are we to ask, after all? He's only the president of the United States.
Trump is a man of virtually unbreakable habits, yet he failed to go off to Mar-Al-Lago over the long weekend. Just as bizarrely, he started to appear without wearing a tie, which is one of the reasons that he looks so disheveled in recent photos. In fact, for a recent Oval Office photo everyone appeared tie-less, presumably to make Trump look less odd.
And then there's what we can all see, the fact that Trump has never been less coherent, making constant verbal flubs and struggling to stay awake in meetings.

He's not speaking "regarding health rumors" -- at least, not literally. It's apparently going to be a big-nothing announcement about moving the headquarters of Space Force to Alabama. The current Republican fixation on postal voting is bizarre. Historically, Republicans supported it because it made it easier for the elderly, who are more Republican than the general population, to vote. Doesn't matter how much they prop him up using drugs, and applying makeup for covering up the worst of it, he's deteriorating in real time, daily. Physically and of course mentally. The death day is coming and he can't evade it, nor will his health suddenly go into a kind of "remission" and make him spry again. His days are numbered. Will he even survive to the year? I'm enjoying observing his visible decline.

Bear in mind that at his age, a common cold could cause a serious health complication. He could be under doctor's orders to stay home. He's fat and lazy anyway, so I don't think it would require much persuasion.

I recall the GOP antipathy toward mail-in voting actually starting in 2012 when the election result seemed closer and in doubt / up for grabs and then the mail-in votes helped Obama more than they helped Romney. Similar in 2016, we knew it was over electorally but then Hillary’s margin in the popular vote got better and better as the mail-in vote totals helped her and hurt Trump. That seemed to really get under Trump’s skin, losing the popular vote and believing that those mail-in votes “stole it” from him. So he was all set up to go hard with the Big Lie (I actually won, my opponent stole it) in case 2020 was close… then it wasn’t close but he quadrupled down on the Big Lie anyway and he was right, the entire GOP-MAGA universe did instantly hold the Big Lie as gospel truth.
On Sept. 1, conservative radio host John Fredericks shared an image of himself with Trump at the same golf club on X and Instagram. Both flashed their crooked smiles and thumbs up as the president sported a white USA hat with gold lettering. But instead of focusing on their grins, fans zeroed in on the background, pointing out odd inconsistencies that didn’t quite add up.
A fourth noted, “This ‘Sept 1st’ Trump photo is digitally altered. The mirror exposes missing wall photos & bad reflections. Old pics recycled to mask his illness—hasn’t been seen live since Thursday. Cover-up is obvious.”
According to Grok, an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by Elon Musk’s company on X, the photo was originally taken on May 29, 2024, despite media outlets reporting it as recent.

(I think the word Dr. Maron is looking for is “ludicrous.”)
In 2018, Mr. Trump’s White House physician at the time, Dr. Ronny L. Jackson, said Mr. Trump was in “excellent” health, but noted that the president’s LDL levels were listed at 143, well above the desired level of 100 or less, despite taking Crestor. This year, Dr. Barbabella listed them at 51.
David J. Maron, a cardiologist at Stanford University School of Medicine who has not treated Mr. Trump, said that such a drop could be attributed to an “extraordinary” response to Zetia — an outcome he said was unlikely — and to a higher dose of Crestor.

by Anonymous | reply 235 | September 3, 2025 11:20 AM |
I believe the reported total was 134 signatories, and that was as of this morning. There are 212 Democrats plus Massie/Mace/Boehbhert/MTG. Assuming the Democrats stick together, they need two more.
Melanie Stansbury, who’s a relatively new Democratic rep from New Mexico, spoke to the press and literally said “This goes all the way to the top.”

If Trump is really going to send out military helicopters to try to drown out the victims’ public statements… that is so going to backfire:

Gee Nancy, since you had a panic attack, maybe you could empathize with s trans person having a panic attack when they're confronted in the bathroom by a lying cunt such as yourself.

Nancy Mace looks like a man.

Trump is not the most powerful person in the federal government, even if he thinks he is. He’s a useful idiot because he whipped his base into a frenzy and allowed the truly powerful to get a stronghold in government and unleash the mercilessly efficient Project 2025. If they continue to succeed, they won’t even need the MAGA base. Woe to MAGA then!
The Epstein Files are keeping Trump in line, as well as his other myriad quagmires, legal and otherwise. His failing health may just be a bonus to them, but I’m sure they could arrange an “accident” if they needed to.
I also don’t believe he composes more than 15% of his Truth Social pronouncements, I don’t think he’s capable. I think that’s Cheung, as “keyboard goon” seems to be the only thing he could possibly be qualified for.

R248, Trump had another guy before him who did most of the posting. That was the one thing that the administration was transparent about. Trump would look at the posts before they went out and suggest a few changes. Occasionally he dictated them.
“This goes all the way to the top.”
As I recall, this was a line from Deep Throat to Woodward in the underground car park. Cut to Redford, barely able to process what he's stumbled into.
It's to be hoped that such a potent line, resonant with former GOP corruption and scandal, is much repeated, unstoppably.

I think Trump's health is steadily getting worse so what they're doing is, letting him have 'rest periods' out of sight where they pump him full of shit to get him back up to a performative state, then they'll do some little carefully choreographed event to 'prove' he's fine.
The proof of that will be in the footage we're allowed to see from now on. Walking seems to be getting progressively harder for him.
I still wonder how they're going to pull off the British trip. It's just 3 days of photo and video opps.

One can recover from these in a few days, not fully and they take their cumulative toll, but not "The Big One" as Redd Foxx would've put it.

R251 🤢 Deplorable Patient Zero
by Anonymous | reply 254 | September 3, 2025 10:08 PM |
Agree with this idea R252. I also think they're letting him make all these sweeping statements (such as moving US Space Command to Alabama and similar) as a way of humoring him in his sad last days. It's a huge job to relocate the business and running of a facility of that type not to mention relocating or finding new employees. A relocation could take months and months. Many of Trump's executive orders and announcements are, frankly, batshit lunacy, and based on nothing but sheer pettiness and arrogance. I'll be curious to see how much gets walked back after he goes when no one is afraid of him any longer.

Plutonium coated handshake in Alaska?

That UK state visit he's got on his calendar, Sept 17-19, is looming. If it even happens, at this point.
And the British press is a lot scrappier and more savage than the mostly-toothless, appease-the-plutocrats bilge we have here in the US.

So he'll bomb something as a distraction and then call off the trip? At the risk of sounding Blueanon,I could see him sending some of his pet Nazis in to attack the troops he's sending to cities. His own little Reichstag fire

Maybe they can arrest him at the border for his mean tweets.

Trump regrettably seemed somewhat back to his abnormal normality when meeting the Polish president. I'm guessing it would take a great deal to keep him from the UK State Visit. The prestige and attention will give him quite the sugar rush. It's obviously to be hoped though that inventive English protesters channel DL as best they can. Looking forward to that blimp again, and plenty more.

R260 - drugs, and almost 5 solid days of no appearances, not press conferences, and rest will prop up failing health. Temporarily. Keep hope alive, people. Any rebound for him is only temporary and each backslide into poorer health will become more frequent and more intense. Yay!
