I'm in New Orleans for Southern Decadence AMA

I love the humidity

by Anonymousreply 43September 2, 2025 1:35 PM

Any Speaker Mike Johnson sightings?

by Anonymousreply 1September 1, 2025 3:04 AM

Have you seen any fat Des Moines bears getting fisted through the window while you were wolfing down a greaseburger at Clover Grill?

by Anonymousreply 2September 1, 2025 3:10 AM

Have fun! I’m jealous. It must be kind of somber there right now with the 20 year Katrina anniversary.

by Anonymousreply 3September 1, 2025 3:10 AM

Why would you worry about humidity if you're only wearing your underwear?

by Anonymousreply 4September 1, 2025 4:02 AM

I hate the humidity

by Anonymousreply 5September 1, 2025 4:12 AM

Don't go in that one bathroom, trust.

by Anonymousreply 6September 1, 2025 5:05 AM

I've heard they offer midnight mass and confession in the back room of Rawhide.

by Anonymousreply 7September 1, 2025 5:51 AM

Have you chatted up Tim Miller yet OP?

by Anonymousreply 8September 1, 2025 6:22 AM

Are there any lemon squares.

by Anonymousreply 9September 1, 2025 10:42 AM

Say hi to the Golden Lantern for me.

by Anonymousreply 10September 1, 2025 5:13 PM

[quote]I love the humidi

OP, it's Boulder-level humidity compared to three weeks ago. JFC, South Louisiana was UNBEARABLE those 10 days, even for August.

by Anonymousreply 11September 1, 2025 5:23 PM

Have you noticed any blisters on your manhood yet?

by Anonymousreply 12September 1, 2025 6:39 PM

It’s so humid, my bush looks full rather than coiffed and manicured. I’m livid! I paid $70 bucks for it!

by Anonymousreply 13September 1, 2025 6:42 PM

Have you met anyone nice while reclining saucily in the trough urinal at Café Lafitte in Exile?

by Anonymousreply 14September 1, 2025 6:57 PM

Do the bars still have dick dancers?

by Anonymousreply 15September 1, 2025 7:10 PM

New Orleans is repulsive.

by Anonymousreply 16September 1, 2025 7:35 PM

If you're in the South you might as well take full advantage of the decadence.

by Anonymousreply 17September 1, 2025 7:45 PM

Anyone have prolapse accidents?

by Anonymousreply 18September 1, 2025 7:46 PM

Is your seersucker wash n wear?

by Anonymousreply 19September 1, 2025 8:00 PM

Leather doesn't come in seersucker, silly!

by Anonymousreply 20September 1, 2025 8:03 PM

Leather does come in corduroy, though.

Dirty little boys

by Anonymousreply 22September 1, 2025 8:10 PM

Are your pits ripe, OP?

by Anonymousreply 23September 1, 2025 8:12 PM

That event always seemed so poorly timed - why Labor Day weekend with all that heat and humidity? Why not Thanksgiving weekend when it is cooler, less humid and less crowded?

I don't understand it - I guess it is slightly better than July 4th? But I doubt it - end of August is awful in a lot of places in the South.

Even May would be great.

by Anonymousreply 24September 1, 2025 8:15 PM

Don't forget The Phoenix Bar. And a good time was had by all. 🤘💖🥳✊🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄

by Anonymousreply 25September 1, 2025 8:29 PM

Have you been mugged yet?

by Anonymousreply 26September 1, 2025 8:30 PM

You're a whore among whores, darlin'.

by Anonymousreply 27September 1, 2025 8:31 PM

The heat and humidity are basically the point. People strip down and get sweaty. By Monday everyone looks like a drowned rat.

by Anonymousreply 28September 1, 2025 8:58 PM

New Orleans Reddit is abuzz with people saying “What happened? It’s now all straight girl dance troupes and families.”

by Anonymousreply 29September 1, 2025 9:16 PM

That's too close to Halloween, which is another big gay NOLA party.

Also, Thanksgiving weekend has the Bayou Classic and that gets pretty crowded.

by Anonymousreply 30September 1, 2025 9:22 PM

OP types like a whore

by Anonymousreply 31September 1, 2025 9:50 PM

I think that's "that" bathroom R14

by Anonymousreply 32September 1, 2025 9:54 PM

OMG R25 I cant believe the Phoenix is still kicking ! Lawsy Mae the nights I had in there ! I remember their Happy Hour would start at like 1 am . They wanted serious drinkers, not frat boys puking 3 drinks later. I met an absolutely adorable redneck blonde country boy in there that spent several weeks in my apt but ultimately I had to boot him because he was very fond of booze indeed. Shame,he was hung and a great fuck.

by Anonymousreply 33September 1, 2025 10:01 PM

OP: hive your balls a really good scratch and then smell your fingers...

by Anonymousreply 34September 1, 2025 10:05 PM

Sorry "give your balls..."

by Anonymousreply 35September 1, 2025 11:29 PM

Too late. r35. I already hived them.

by Anonymousreply 36September 1, 2025 11:40 PM

I’m curious what New Orleans in August is like.

by Anonymousreply 37September 2, 2025 1:09 AM

Actually the dew point is only 60 degrees - and it looks like it was low 80s today with 75% humidity. Not awesome, but not horrible either. You can get that up north in August very easily.

by Anonymousreply 38September 2, 2025 1:33 AM

You can't get Cajun spice BO up north.

by Anonymousreply 39September 2, 2025 3:48 AM

Why @R16 There is a heavy feeling of sadness after Katrina

by Anonymousreply 40September 2, 2025 4:01 AM

Katrina was 2 decades ago and billions were poured in to rebuild. Bupkes. The sadness should be about the losers in city government.

by Anonymousreply 41September 2, 2025 12:00 PM

Went to my very first SD back in 1984, At the time is was more underground. It was crazy wild back in the mid 1980s. The NOLA PD pretty much left everyone alone. This was back in the plague era, so I suppose many of us thought we might as well go out with a bang. For those wondering why Labor Day Weekend; the origin story is attached

R42 - thanks for that. Kind of crazy it had such humble beginnings.

I'd love to go but one day is probably the max for me. And as I get older, my appreciation for crowds has shorter time limits. Oh well - will probably never go.
