Why is this this hummel worth 20k? Datalounge won't let me post a link at the bottom. But its on eBay- 20k for a 30 inch hummel called the apple tree boy. Do you still have any hummels in your posession? My bitch greedy uncle stole all of my grandmother’s possessions including 2 hummels that I wanted out of nostalgia.
Why is this hummel worth 20k? Do you still have any hummels?

Still?

Yes. @R1 Should I be embarrassed that I still want one?

Ugh. You can have my mothers Hummels. I cant give those fucking things away much less sell them.

An advertising selling price does not always represent actual market value. Watch to see if someone actually purchases the item for that price.

Thank you! There has to be a market for them. I mean some on eBay are going for 35k, 20k of 15k. There is a store in forest hills in queens selling them for $100 a pop @R3

This page will help you learn more about determining 5he value of Hummel figurines. Most are worth little money.

Those things are nightmare-inducing.

Hummels... ugh! Now, my 'Precious Moments' figurines are lovely!

How much do you think I can get for my beanie babies and my Tina Turner wall clock?

One of my gentleman callers demanded an extra $500 to quench my…desires, because of my lady bugs!
When I refused to pay, he broke every one of my Hummels!
Ii had Daddy deport him to Uganda.

Senatrice, I hope he didn't break your porcelain Gone With the Wind dolls as well!

My Lladro figurines have an entire room in my house! They are priceless.

One of my unhoused clients keeps a porcelain Hummel head with his kit.
It’s a bit of personal history and I’m not close enough to ask about it.

They just seems so unappealing for some reason like chocolate covered strawberries, plastic seat cushions and crocs.

R14, for me, it’s the cheery Nazi kitsch factor, which may explain why they are so popular now.

As someone who collects vintage Polaroid cameras usually off of ebay....Sellers can list at any price their delusional minds want....
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 30, 2025 11:19 PM |
I'd rather have a Lladró.

They pull the same shit with shoes. Balenciaga combat boots from 2016 are offered at 2016 prices. Torn up Gucci shoes are offered at $400. Valentino and Louboutin shoes missing spikes ask $300. Like you’d want spikes in the first place….

I have a Hummel crèche set, complete with magi and animals, that was made in 1942. It’s actually very pretty.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 31, 2025 12:03 AM |
CORRECTION: It’s not a Hummel crèche set, but it was made by the Goebel Company that produces Hummel figurines. It is really beautiful and doesn’t have any of the Hummel saccharine creepiness about it.

I admit to liking Villeroy & Boch naif. Hummel creeps me out.

There was a company that made porcelain birds, E.M. Boehm Studios.
They were a big deal back in the 1960s. Some of the pieces are quite complex and beautiful.
I'm amazed at how inexpensive it is to buy many of them now. If they're cheap, I can't imagine how a Hummel would be worth much. But whatever.
You can see a list where some of the pieces reside today:

eBay's Advanced Search lets you search through sold and ended listings if you want to know what actually sells and for how much.

I just recently took my aunt's set of Goebel Sparrows. She has been deceased for years now, and my uncle is downsizing and wouldnt have paid any attention anyway to them. They add so much whimsy to my bookshelf!

A Hungarian friend told me her brothers used to do slingshot target practice with their mom's Hummels, so they may be a little rarer than you think.

It was a pyramid scheme aimed at fraus, convincing them they'd be priceless someday. My mother has dozens, and would throw a tantrum if my dad didn't agree to a purchase.
"But you've got to have the matching plate and bell!"
