Living nepos who actually deserve their success anyway
There are actually some nepo babies who are so good they pretty much deserve their success. (I don;t think anyone's going to add homely Ben Platt or homelier Beanie Feldstein to this list.)
Jane Fonda is perhaps the foremost of these, along with Jeff Bridges and Anjelica Huston. But among younger people I would add:
Margaret Qualley
Colin Hanks (not a star, but a superb character actor who always done fine work)
Enrique Iglesias

He never became a big star, but I always enjoyed Campbell Scott’s work.

I think Ethan Peck is excellent, and deserves even better work than he's getting in "ST: Strange New Worlds."

Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal
Alex Wolff
Sofia Coppola
Laura Dern
Maya Hawke

R7, I just came to say I was shocked to learn who Eve Hewson was. I didn't even get time to hate her. Fell in love with her immediately on The Knick

This one's a hot take, but Jack Quaid.

r17, Jack Quaid is adorable. Of course the nincompooperai of DL hate him.

Jack Quaid was good in The Boys and Companion. He's a little one-note but he's good in those projects.

I'm so tired of this nepo baby thing. My plumber inherited the business from his dad. I guess I should fire him and hire another plumber who has no family experienced in his trade?

Lucas Hedges is very underappreciated as an actor (despite having already an Oscar nomination).

Dakota Johnson is a very talented actress. I've really enjoyed her work.

Second Candice Bergen, who i love. Also,,her celebrity father worked an articulated doll. Everything went fine.
Conversely, much as i admire her acting, each of the seven daughters of Meryls Streep should be tarred.

Nepo Baby Emotional Support Thread.
Take a nice long hit of Copium. Yes, you would have been successful even without your rich, famous and well connected family.

Colin Hanks is a DREADFUL actor.

R28 the whole point of the thread is that nepotism isn't always a bad thing that allows people with connections to thrive in industries they have no talent or knowledge for. Retard.

I think r28 and r37 agree on a lot more than either one is willing to admit.

I love him. He was just as goode as Matthew Goode in The Offer.

Another vote for Dakota Johnson, though I think it helps that she couldn't be more different than her parents. Eve Hewson isn't terrible, but she seems a bit one note. I don't think the Streeplet on Guilded Age is bad, but her character is really boring

Drew Barrymore. She has just simply put in the hours and has survived the celebrity ringer for the last forty-six years.

Exhaustive lists of celebrity kids who joined the business. Some good, many forgotten.
I believe Nancy Sinatra is still kicking.

I like Nancy Sinatra because she's supposed to be really nice and HATES Trump!
The nepo thing is tough because thousands and thousands of very talented actors never even get representation from good agents who can get them seen for roles that build a career and many if not most give up and quit.
Talent is expected and not hard to find, but getting positioned to save a decade or more of struggling to get a decent agent is the key that allows nepo cases to thrive and bypass the destructive struggle to just get on the board.

Rashida Jones, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Aniston. Kendall Jenner is 5'10" and beautiful. She could have easily made it as a model without the Kardashian connection. Same for Gigi Hadid...5'11 and gorgeous.

Modeling is one of the few industries where being a nepo baby isn't helpful or harmful. Modeling agencies frequently have open calls, do national scouting and if you have an in-demand look, they will represent you.

Maya Hawke
Sydney Chandler
Taylor Dearden
Fiona Dourif
Lewis Pullman
Hannah Einbinder
Jack Quaid
Margaret Qualley
Zoey Deutsch
Lily-Rose Depp
These are all good actors. Would they have made it without connections? Who knows. But they’re not just running on fumes.

This will get me eviscerated here, but Gwyneth Paltrow. Yes, she's an absolute shitstorm in most aspects of her life, but I've enjoyed the majority of her performances even so.

[quote]I'm so tired of this nepo baby thing
The disdain for "nepo babies" is one of those quirky things that is a big deal on DL and a huge "who cares" to almost everyone else. But because DL never, ever tires of anything ("Dead to me" is hilarious! Catherine Zeta-Jones is forever 32!), we can expect it to stay around until the sun burns out.
