Working on Gladiator 3 right now, expects Battle of Britain to be his next film after Dog Stars.
Ridley Scott wants to butcher some more history

IMO should have stuck to scifi films.

I couldn't even finish "Gladiator II." It was so boring and pointless.

Ridley ffs give it up. Your movies have sucked for a long time now.

I think Prometheus was his last great movie and the last time he made a giant effort to create something new.
Everything since then has been a middling paycheck movie (All the Money in the World, House of Gucci, The Martian) or just absolute crap that he clearly wasn't invested in (Covenant, Napoleon, Gladiator 2)
He needs to retire.

Unpopular opinion: "Kingdom of Heaven" (2005) is way, but way over better as an epic than both Gladiator I and II combined.

If done well, Battle of Britain could be spectacular. Maybe he'll get his groove back for this.

I can’t stand him anymore. His films have been crap for years now. Who keeps cutting the checks?

People were asking for a new Gladiator film.

I'm skeptical the Battle of Britain movie will be good. The 1969 movie was close enough to the war that they still had a bunch of airworthy WW2 planes they could use. Only a tiny handful of those planes are still flying. It will be mostly CGI.

I just saw Battle of Britain a month ago. It was an incomprehensible mess and yes, I know enough about the history of the time. Sure they had the actual planes which excited a lot of the geekier viewers (judging from the IMDb reviews) but the mishmash of squads and locations and dropped storylines…oy. But it was Britain’s shining hour and they could probably use a reminder.

R6, Kingdom of Heaven was when everyone discovered that heartthrob Legolas was a one-hit wonder. It only came alive when they entered Jerusalem (?) and the scenes with Eva Green and Edward Norton (out-acting everyone while wearing a silver mask). .

I agree with R6 that 'Kingdom of Heaven' is a solid movie overall. Orlando Bloom does some decent serious acting in it.
