Such innovative thinking! I must take note !

That's cute. He didn't even know to crush them up before he roofied the ice cream. Must be new.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 28, 2025 6:35 PM |
It sounds like he was preparing to SA them but they found the drugs and he panicked and called the police to act like it wasn’t him that did it.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 28, 2025 6:42 PM |
My guess is lawsuit scam. That's why he didn't crush them up. He needed them to be visible. He calls the cops so he has a police report and eventually sues the DQ for putting it in his ice cream. Then... .profit! Or that was his plan. Unfortunately, he was caught on camera as the one who put them in the ice cream.

Yes, r2. The linked statement doesn't get to the GOP part until the last line and does not give the reason for resignation.
That's what I first thought, r1. Benadryl like they give some wound up kids before flights, but no. The pills were positive for MDMA and cocaine. I guess he didn't really think through the part about how he'd get the parents to give him money he wouldn't be legally entitled to.

How old were the granddaughters?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 28, 2025 6:49 PM |
It was sloppy of him. I'm going with SA.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 28, 2025 6:51 PM |
Thanks r7.

Barron naturally shitfaced.

The first article didn't give ages but the police have since had a press conference and it gets dark. I had assumed little kids. Looks like it was a set up for assault.
[QUOTE]James Yokeley Jr. allegedly put pills containing narcotics in his 16-year-old step-granddaughter’s and her 15-year-old friend’s Dairy Queen blizzards.

From the resignation letter:
“This decision has not been made lightly. After much prayer, thoughtful reflection, and consultation, I have concluded that it’s in the best interest of the State Board of Elections and Surry County Board of Elections, regarding my own falsely accused circumstances, to step down at this time,” he stated.
“Based on the truth and facts, I remain prayerfully confident that I will be exonerated of all accusations levied against me,” Yokeley Jr. wrote in the same letter.

Yeah, that's why asked. You don't give children something that strong.

Keep praying, gramps.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 29, 2025 7:12 PM |
I know SA was the assumption here but have also seen online chatter suggesting it was an attempt to scam DQ and sue them.
Don't have an opinion one way or the other as to what might have happened, just mentioning as an FYI.
Either way, gramps is a fucking loon.

r16, did you read r12?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 29, 2025 7:19 PM |
The Family Values party.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 29, 2025 7:23 PM |
R17 Hmmm, I can't see R12. And I have no one blocked so....very weird, am not sure why I can't see it.
Sorry if I duplicated something already said 🙁

He was the step-grandfather of one of the girls. The other was an unrelated friend. He wouldn't have any legal claim in a lawsuit since he's not the parent or guardian of either minor, so it's unlikely that this was a legal scam. He wanted to diddle those girls.

MDMA and cocaine!

by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 29, 2025 9:33 PM |
Where did this geezer lay his hands on MDMA and coke?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 29, 2025 10:36 PM |
I'm not familiar with the effects of MDNA and Cocaine. Initialky, I would have thought that he wanted to knock them out, but then..... Was he hoping to make them uncontrollably horny? What was his plan? I know that family is probably wanting to tag team his ass for a hell of a familial beat down.

Thanksgiving is going to be a bit awkward this year.

Cocaine is a stimulant. You wouldn't use it to knock someone out. MDMA is also a stimulant, being an amphetamine. If you took it voluntarily and consensually you would likely enjoy a nice psychedelic trip dancing to music and loving on your friends, but if someone slipped it to you unknowingly you would probably freak out at the effects, especially if you were unfamiliar with them. It would likely not put you to sleep. Far from it.
He's an idiot.

taking cocaine without realizing would be totally nightmarish. i would think i was dying during the come down.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 30, 2025 3:30 PM |
^ And the come down involves a severe depressive state? Is that correct?
