The ugliest cast I’ve ever seen.

I hate Lanthimos’ films with a passion.

r3, I've only seen "The Favourite" and that was enough Lanthimos for me.

R4: I’ve had sufficient of his ugly muse too.

I imagine she truly is an alien.

You lost me at Emma Stone.

I've seen 3 of his films and he's way overrated. It seems they give Oscars to any actress who's willing to get naked and have sex onscreen (Emma, Halle, Mikey). Poor Things was stupid, The Favourite was boring, and The Killing Of A Sacred Deer was tedious.
How is he getting bankrolled?

Anyone else think a bald Emma Stone looks exactly like Rose McGowan?

Only 7 minutes? They hated it.

In what world does that poster make me want to set for 2+ hours in a movie theater?
It’s just ugliness for the sake of ugly. I liked The Favourite, but based on everything else that was a one off. I think Killing of a Sacred Deer is his true form and that is terrifying.

I just glanced the reviews and the critics are loving it, despite most saying in the same breath it's not his best work.
r10 You have to be careful with these conversions because 7 minutes in Venice is like 17 in Cannes. The French tend to go comically overboard.

"Misery meets Mars Attacks" made me chuckle, but also made my ears perk up. I'll give it a shot, despite being tired of seeing Stone in Lanthimos movies and being genuinely repulsed by post-Ozempic Plemons. Not that his pre-Ozempic version was any more appealing. I just don't get him, I guess.

I've been a fan of his since Dogtooth (2009), but I didn't see Poor Things because I didn't think I would like it.
This film actually looks pretty good.

I’ve loved all of his films and doubt this will be any different. The Lobster is my favorite by far.

So it's "Ruthless People" but no fun?

Modern-day Katharine Hepburn! Bold take.

I hope this little cunt doesn't win her third Oscar from this film. The first win was utter bullshit, and the second one, when she won, was a weak year.

They gave it to her for Poor Things because she got her tits out, but something tells me shaving her head won't quite have the same effect.
