“Wednesday” season 2 bombing in the ratings

Sad last days.

Didn’t that crap menu at Wendy’s make some people sick?

by Anonymousreply 1August 28, 2025 3:34 AM

I hate these CGI crapfest shows and movies.

by Anonymousreply 2August 28, 2025 3:37 AM

Waited too long. The kids and teens who cared have moved on.

by Anonymousreply 3August 28, 2025 3:37 AM

Netflix famously doesn’t release ratings information so this sounds dubious. What does “dropped increasingly by 50%” even mean?

by Anonymousreply 4August 28, 2025 3:38 AM

Stupid OP! Netflix doesn’t keep track of ratings for entire days!!!

Who told you that???

by Anonymousreply 5August 28, 2025 3:40 AM

I think everyone's had sufficient of this little cunt.

by Anonymousreply 6August 28, 2025 3:46 AM

They cast me as the mother, Mortica, but I'm obviously the better option to play the daughter role.

by Anonymousreply 7August 28, 2025 3:48 AM

They waited too long.

by Anonymousreply 8August 28, 2025 3:48 AM

^ Millie Bobby Brown

by Anonymousreply 9August 28, 2025 4:00 AM

Nobody wants to see Pugsly after puberty.

by Anonymousreply 10August 28, 2025 4:10 AM

I haven't watched TV in years and am not familiar the production process. According to Wikipedia, this show was renewed for a second season back in January of 2023. Why such a long gap before the second season's premier? Is that normal?

What I DO know, however, is that the internet seems to think that Jenna Ortega has done some weird shit to her face. Let's just hope it's weight loss and bad makeup.

by Anonymousreply 11August 28, 2025 4:37 AM

People are fucking sick of Jenna Ortega. This woman is not a star. Whatever “it” is, she frankly doesn’t have it. So why is she being foisted upon us?

by Anonymousreply 12August 28, 2025 4:48 AM

[quote] Netflix famously doesn’t release ratings information so this sounds dubious.

That was before they incorporated ads into their programming. They absolutely release ratings now.

by Anonymousreply 13August 28, 2025 4:49 AM

I can't help but think that Jenna's recent "no eyebrows" look was copped from her "X" co-star Mia Goth.

by Anonymousreply 14August 28, 2025 5:14 AM

What do you expect when you split the season?

by Anonymousreply 15August 28, 2025 5:18 AM

I didn’t know until I started watching British television that a gap of 2-5 years between series is no big deal to them. I know it’s not all, but many do.

by Anonymousreply 16August 28, 2025 6:07 AM

The first season caught on because of the dance scene that went viral on TikTok. The second hasn't had anything like that moment yet.

by Anonymousreply 17August 28, 2025 4:07 PM

Your link isn't showing up for me, OP. Variety says it's doing as well as the first series.

Jenna has one of the strongest boniest faces Ive seen.

by Anonymousreply 19August 28, 2025 4:43 PM

[quote]Waited too long. The kids and teens who cared have moved on.

Yeah, Season 1 was released in November 2022, which seems like a lifetime ago.

A lot has changed since then.

by Anonymousreply 20August 28, 2025 4:48 PM

The whole thing seems phoned in, from the acting to the storyline

by Anonymousreply 21August 28, 2025 4:53 PM

IGN says that the ratings are down. They’re going 4 eps in, not just premiere.

by Anonymousreply 22August 28, 2025 4:57 PM

R18, that’s the premiere. IGN is looking through to ep 4.

by Anonymousreply 23August 28, 2025 4:58 PM

While I agree that shows are taking too long a break in between seasons lately, the strikes were the culprit for why this show took so long to come back

by Anonymousreply 24August 28, 2025 4:59 PM

IMO, the 2nd season is B-O-R-I-N-G! Episode 2 was okay, but I thought the 1st and 3rd of season 2 was awful. SO MUCH going on in episode 3 and none of it interesting. I probably won't watch the 4th and just call it a day.

by Anonymousreply 25August 28, 2025 5:11 PM

R24 Netflix is run by socialists, who are lazy as fuck.

Socialism encourages indolence and tardiness, because they equate hard work and punctuality with capitalism.

by Anonymousreply 26August 28, 2025 5:17 PM

R24, I think the strike shares some of the blame, but Netflix has never been very good about getting shows on a regular schedule, and it kills the momentum for some of its biggest series. The first season of Squid Game was a phenomenon, but by the time the second season came out, no one cared.

While I don't think it'll bomb, this isn't a good sign for the return of Stranger Things later this year.

by Anonymousreply 27August 28, 2025 5:18 PM

I didn't even know it was out. there seems to be zero hype which is odd since season 1 was so huge.

by Anonymousreply 28August 28, 2025 5:19 PM

[quote] While I don't think it'll bomb, this isn't a good sign for the return of Stranger Things later this year.

Don’t cast kids and expect them to continue through puberty. It’s a crap shoot.

by Anonymousreply 29August 28, 2025 5:22 PM

R26 they also equate being punctual and industrious with the "white patriarchy."

by Anonymousreply 30August 28, 2025 5:34 PM

Is it bombing because that little cunt isn't changing her lines anymore ?

by Anonymousreply 31August 28, 2025 5:36 PM

[quote]What do you expect when you split the season?

I am waiting until the last 4 episodes drop before I start season 2.

by Anonymousreply 32August 28, 2025 5:40 PM

Has the “Every Movie is a Bomb” troll moved from film to television? It’s good to see him expanding his envious, deluded horizons.

Oh, and “Wednesday” is not “bombing.” It’s doing just fine and sends its love.

by Anonymousreply 33August 28, 2025 6:06 PM

OP's link still isn't working for me. But I googled IGN after r23 mentioned it and their latest report doesn't say it's bombing, just that it's not a runaway hit.

Wasn't she canceled after the whole Snow White ordeal?

by Anonymousreply 35August 28, 2025 6:24 PM

Netflix usually only does 3 seasons of the majority of their original shows to fill their library. If it gets a third season it’ll probably be the last. Lady Gaga will definitely give it a much needed boost. Burton also just made her next music video.

by Anonymousreply 36August 28, 2025 6:35 PM

As many said above, these streamers take way too damn long to renew and make new seasons of shows. Audiences all but move on now with a million things vying for their attention now.

Say what you will, but traditional television had the format down, and knew what worked.
