Reasons Why Top Chef is Fake

Most of the " revelations" have to do with the normal production of a reality series. " Fake " might be a stretch.

[quote] What you see isn't necessarily what they eat.

[quote]"there was a particular interest in [competitors] who were hot headed and who were driving the overall storyline," adding that he or she was nixed "relatively early" after being "up against a big personality" and that "they have a bias to keeping more women on the show than need be."

[quote]Colicchio himself has revealed that at least one Top Chef contestant was so ahead of the game from the outset that the show had to cut a lot of his film to make the season work.

Seems like a big nothing burger to me. And old news since Padma has been off the series for a year, amd the fact that she was a diva bitch will surprise exactly no one.

The one thing that resonated was the charge that female chefs are artificially advanced so it doesn’t become a dickfest. Unfair if the male chefs are simply better. But it was obvious this was happening as recently as last season.

It’s fun. Who cares if it’s fake.

It’s not Shakespeare for gods sake

As fake as basically every damn reality show that has ever existed.

All shows are fake. Reality just replaces expensive stars and writers with inexpensive fame whores who are chosen to naturally have conflicts with the other cheap fame whores, and junior producers who set up intentionally volatile situations and also whip the fame whores to a point just shy of frenzy before the cameras roll.

The editors who need to shape this chaos into something resembling a "scene" in a larger "storyline" are the ones who actually get paid fairly well - but thats still a fraction of what one middle roster actor would get.

Guess how I know.
