It's quite obvious that Eve is lesbionic, or at least an opportunistic bisexual, to anyone who has seen this movie more than once, OP, and to most who have seen it once, It is also quite deliberate on the part of Joe Mankiewicz, and not some coded detail that you have brilliantly uncovered.
