What in the hell was this guy doing as a lifeguard, and then a Busser in a restaurant?
Is he bullshitting about his education?
I mean, he lives in the Bay Area. With experience and education like this, he should have a much better job than he does now:

I'm 100% positive that my link to his Instagram at r8 is correct. Here's his Facebook, but he hasn't updated it in awhile and doesn't contain anything about him in the US. Note I'm not the one who posted the linked in so don't come after me for that as it's the wrong guy
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 25, 2025 8:07 AM |
This is television worthy news for a big city like San Francisco. 🤔 Must been a slow news. Or the story is that he’s hot. If he was average looking this be relegated to the 5th page of the local paper. And the restaurant manager clearly wants to fuck him.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 25, 2025 8:09 AM |
And btw, if you want to know how I found his Instagram and Facebook among all the many rodrigo lopez's out there, I searcged social media for news article's about this, looked at comments, saw someone who mentioned they were related to him and how proud rhey were, then clicked on that person's profile and viewed her friends' list to get his profile. If you ever want to find someone specific with a common name that's been in the news, . this method works a good amount of the time.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 25, 2025 8:14 AM |
That's definitely his Facebook, R17.
Lots of photos of him surfing and in the ocean. Since he was a lifeguard, that totally fits.
Not so sure about the LinkedIn profile at R9, though. Computer software engineer doesn't seem like the guy in the news story.

Zuni Cafe is a no-tipping restaurant where an added 25% on the bill is spread around to the kitchen and support staff. I imagine he makes more than you think even as a bus boy.
"The server says he worked 30 to 35 hours a week before the pandemic, averaging $200 a night in tips. That means when he worked around 32 hours a week, he had the potential to earn upwards of $70,000 a year. With the new hourly rate, he would be making about $40,000 — a $30,000 pay cut."
I must say, earning $70,000 a year by working 32 hours a week as a server sounds pretty good. That was before the pandemic, and massive inflation that followed, too.

What is going on lately? In the past when someone started a thread about some person saying how hot/good looking they were-it was always someone that I considered totally unappealing but first we had that handsome Italian Pizza Man from Long Island and now this good looking/hot guy in San Francisco both of whom I am in agreement with those who consider them hot/good looking/handsome etc.

Hidden deep in the television article is that Rodgrigo didn't give the man mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. He did chest compressions. It was the man's HUSBAND who gave him mouth to mouth. I'll bet the man was angry at his husband once he found out what had happened. "You didn't let that gorgeous waiter give me mouth to mouth? What sort of loving husband are you?"

That's what I though. It's not the bus boy's job to save your life. It sounds like old DL queens on here who brag about how they saved millions living in their overly cluttered antique filled luxury apartment with the wall of books and think a quarter tip should cover it.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | August 26, 2025 10:33 AM |
He doesn't appear to be stupid on camera. well-spoken, and comes across as intelligent and personable. I have a feeling he's smart enough to figure out he's making more money at the restaurant than what his college degree would earn him. Plus, he may have a schedule which affords him the free time he wants for swimming/surfing, and not bound to a 9-5 grind. Sounds like he knows what he's doing and on the right track.

I love that dimple (or is it a scar?) on the left side of his gorgeous smile.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | August 26, 2025 12:56 PM |
He may have had a Lateral facial cleft (macrostomia), repaired. Or he just has a crooked smile and a mole and dimples. all in that one corner (his left, our right.). Very rare - Incidence is usually cited as 1 in 60,000 to 1 in 300,000 live births.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | August 26, 2025 1:04 PM |
R41 - from all the news about Argentina's economy the past few years with the new President, about half of the population has fallen into the poverty rate.
So, yes - of course he's making a lot more than in Argentina, even with SF's high costs. At least he has a job. Unemployment is really high in Argentina as well.
Inflation was over 300% in recent years and poverty rate was 52.9% Q1 2024. It has gotten better - but it still is 71% inflation rate and 40+% poverty rate this year.
He's very handsome - I wouldn't be surprised if Zuni's bookings increased this week. Not gonna lie, but I've returned to restaurants that I like solely because of a great looking waiter.
Beauty like that is rare - and it is kind of thrilling to see. If he plays his cards right, he could do really well.

by Anonymous | reply 49 | August 26, 2025 8:22 PM |
R49 - Just saying he should be open to all opportunities in SF. Looks have a shelf-life.
He could make great money - yes, in both a regular job and all the other things you were thinking about.
Eventually he's going to have to move back to Argentina I would imagine - particularly under Trump's bs.
He got some small notoriety for this incident - time to cash in on any opportunities that come his way. There are worse things than taking your clothes off for money online.

[quote]He can perform mouth-to-mouth on me any time!!!
Did you hear him clearly point out it was the man's husband who did the mouth-to-mouth, not him ? He did the chest compressions but not the mouth-to-mouth.
A sexy, gorgeous EMT I'm friends with told me a number of times that EMTs no longer do 'mouth to mouth' on people - not since COVID. They do chest compressions, but no more m2m. (He says this whenever I joke and ask him to demonstrate on me how he does m2m). BTW, he works out of Minneapolis but I'm assuming this is standard now across the country. The fact that Rodrigo the busser didn't do it kind of confirms this for me.

Zuni Cafe's menu looks horrible and expensive.
$90+ for a ribeye? C'mon.
Olives? Shoestring Potatoes? Anchovy Plate?
Caesar Salad? Three Greens Soup with Farm Egg?
Spaghetti with Manila Clams? Lomo Saltado??
That lunch menu is all over the place!
by Anonymous | reply 57 | August 27, 2025 1:26 AM |
Thanks R57. Now I know if Rodrigo should ever come to my table, I'll just order the 'hot dog'. The 8 incher. No hot dog roll - just the hot dog, please. I'll pay whatever for that hot dog.

What I can't get over is that the Zuni Cafe has lasted all these years.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | August 27, 2025 2:54 AM |
r57 and r60, agreed; however, last year I was in the hospital for 6 weeks, with multi-organ failure, waiting to die.
My husband visited and stayed with me every day, for at least six hours each day. I was mostly out of it but was in full acceptance mode, while wasting away. My partner was in a deep depression. A close friend suggested they go out for a long lunch and they ended up at Zuni, despite my partner's hesitation. I recall thinking that the Zuni Cafe is a sure thing for a good meal and atmosphere (if you ignore that it's on Market Street) and that he just doesn't get how much is in my 401K and that it also belongs to him, so spend it, goddamnit.
Strangely, I'm still here, 8 months later. The two of them still talk about that 3-martini and steaks and dessert lunch before a show at the Orpheum theater, which is down the street.
Haven't been there in maybe 8 years myself, but this thread made me laugh. If you're going to die, or someone you love is dying, go to Zuni. It's always great. If you can't go, send someone else. If they try to die, one of the many hot staff will save them. Order the whole chicken. It's worth the wait. It is to die for. Yes, chicken. This is Julianne Moore level seriousness.

The indigenous looking newcaster woman says BUSSER. I just realized that is what's said in the video. I thought people on this thread were just being cute. San Francisco is an extremely WOKE city so it should not suprise me that busboy had to be rebranded to BUSSER.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | August 27, 2025 3:53 AM |
This isn't Rodrigo's first time at the rodeo. His hotness is a threat to public health and safety. His charming shoulder stretches on that SF sidewalk caused some old gay codger to have a heart attack. Hyperventilations, grand Mal seizures, Rodrigo has seen it all and knows how to mitigate the damage he does.

[quote]Zuni Cafe's menu looks horrible and expensive.
Zuni Cafe is famous for their dry brine chicken. Seriously, there are books and media clips about it. Kind of the first ones to do it before dry brine was a thing. Their roast chicken was so popular even America's Kitchen felt compelled to piggy back off their success years ago.

35 years ago, the casting agents from PLAYGIRL would have been all over Cafe Zuni like a swarm of bees. They would have made him a decent offer to go full nude in the magazine, reminding him that at 35 his best days were behind him. But now, he has way too many other options to show off his beauty if he wants to...
