I Need Something To Watch!!
I got nothing to do the rest of the day and just want to chill on the couch and watch tv. I've out of shows/movies to watch, have caught up on all the DL faves and things we love to hate.
Please suggest some new things for me to watch! I have all the streaming services.

I like to watch a couple of movies with similar themes back to back. How about a Venetian theme?: 'Death in Vince', 'Don't Look Now', and 'The Comfort of Strangers'.

Summer of 85. French gay-themed young adult movie with two very cute actors.
My Beautiful Laundrette. Classic gay love story between a young Indian entrepreneur and a young British tough guy.
Both on Tubi, if you have an Amazon Fire tv.

I've been re-watching Season 1 of American Horror Story: Murder House, on Amazon Prime Video.
I forgot what an excellent season that was, with the very handsome Dylan McDermott, a very youngish looking Evan Peters, and the fabulous Jessica Lange.
I'd definitely recommend this.
Also, Urban Legend is showing this month on AMC Plus
Oh, another good watch is "The Serial Killer's Apprentice" on HBO Max. It's a one-episode documentary on the 17 year old Elmer Wayne Henley, Jr. who helped a serial killer lure young males into their deaths. It was pretty compelling.

OP - Watch the miniseries The Hostage on Netflix. It’s brand new. It was just released on Thursday. I found it quite engrossing.

Well don't bother with Eden in Galapagos - Satan moves in or whatever it's called. Prime wanted $2.99 and I happily paid.
It sounded like an amazing documentary- I mean how can you take something like that and turn it into a snoozefest is beyond me - but they did it.
Guess I'll wait to see the Ron Howard version starring Jude Law.
In the meantime, save your three bucks.

What types of films/TV shows do you like?
It may not be to your taste, but one of the things I love about the streamers is you can discover a ton of shows/films that are forgotten today.
If you like old Westerns, check out the mid-'50s historical fiction show [italic]Stories of the Century,[/italic] starring sexy Jim Davis ("Jock Ewing" in [italic]Dallas[/italic] as a railroad detective who encounters real-life desperadoes like Tom Horn, Doc Holliday, and the Allison brothers. In the first season his partner was the beauteous Mary Castle, who was a dead ringer for Rita Hayworth. It's really fun to watch.
Another '50s show I recommend is Richard Boone's [italic]The Medic.[/italic] I've been shocked by some of the frank content/storylines that I'd thought TV audiences of that time (or TV censors) would have found outré; during that same timeframe the writers of [italic]I Love Lucy[/italic] couldn't even use the word "pregnant" in the script when Lucy was "expecting."
If you enjoy spotting "before they were stars" actors, a ton of them ambled through the TV Westerns of the '50s-'60s like Wagon Train, Laramie, and Cheyenne; just in the last week I've seen James Garner and his delicious ass, a very young Angie Dickinson who looked very much like MSNBC's Katy Tur, Charles Bronson (who also had a '50s TV show I recommend, [italic]Man With a Camera[/italic], Ellen Burstyn, Peter Falk, Lee Marvin, Rod Steiger, Jack Nicholson, and scores of others.

R11 Yes! I watch Murder House every year, around Halloween, actually. It's the best season by far and it's like comfort food, I put it on and relax and take a nap.

If you want sweet, innocent, fell-good family films, you can watch "Christopher Robbin" with Ewan McGregor. (Disney Plus)

I've been looking for something to watch too; I want some entertaining, Agatha Christie/Miss Marple-type mindless entertainment to take my mind off our current troubles (I don't care for Poirot). But I'll have to give AMH/Murder House as watch as I like Connie Britten. In addition to Midnight Mass, I'd also add to it The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. The ending is a bit of a dud, but cuts between the past/present siblings & their dysfunction is pretty entertaining.

If you can deal with subtitles, I will recommend Moonlight Chicken, a gay Thai drama. It is available on Youtube - each episode is split in four parts. Playlist linked below.

You mean James McAvoy R32. Ugh, I finally watched that last night and hated it. I didn't see his great acting chops, he talked like a kid from the Bronx sometimes and sometimes had a fake Brit accent and would put on or take off a scarf and that was his big change.

Watch "Head of the Family."
It was on AMC+ a while ago, and I fucking loved it.
Campy horror schlock from 1996.
The lead character in the movie was kind of cute, too.
