I knew him from Manhattan Murder Mystery.
Cousin of Stella and Luther.

So young.

RIP.
I've had an irrational dislike for him ever since he played a judge in an episode of Law & Order; he sexually harassed Jamie Ross (Carey Lowell), and impeded Jack McCoy's (Sam Waterston) prosecution of a woman accused of murdering her twin sister and assuming her identity to hide from Teh Mob. That was my first exposure to Jerry Adler, and obviously colored my attitude toward him.
Very good actor who just happened to make my skin crawl.

Loved him as the super on Mad About You.

His friend Frank J. Reilly shared the news on X, writing, “The great actor, my friend Jerry Adler died today at the age of 96. You know him from one of his iconic roles had from many of his guest appearances. Not bad for a guy who didn’t start acting until he was 65.”

r6, I, too, had a very unpleasant take on Jerry Adler but just because of the early roles he'd often play as a big bully or creep with a violent streak. How nice to read these obits that praise what a swell guy he was and of his decades long pre-acting career as a respected and beloved stage manager and production supervisor on Broadway.
Bruce Vilanch just wrote a loving tribute to him on Facebook, recounting some of Jerry's hilarious stories he shared with Bruce over the years of all the stars, like Rex Harrison, Julie Andrews, Carol Channing, Kate Hepburn, Barbara Harris and so many others, with whom he worked (backstage) over the years. What a pity that Jerry never wrote a memoir....but perhaps Bruce will get it all down in a book or published article himself.

I liked seeing his hairy chest on The Sopranos. What can I say?

Hesh! Loved his character on the Sopranos, how he seemed to be, not untouchable exactly, but someone who was able to stay above the various intrigues. And then he showed up on The Good Wife as the partner who just needed to be present for votes but never did any work. Nor wear pants when he napped after lunch. Can you blame him?
Aww. He made any scene better just by being in it. 96, wow, he had a good run.

I really enjoyed his interview on 'Talking Sopranos'. Only saw him on the Sopranos, so I never saw any of his creepy roles.

You didn't think he was creepy in The Sopranos?
Oy vey!

I just saw him in a 2005 movie called Prime that aired on cable last week. The kind of actor who could make you laugh by just raising an eyebrow. So good.

I read that he was the Stage Manager on the soap opera Santa Barbara for many years- which was kind of cool
RIP- I liked him very much

Accustomed to the grind of being behind the scenes on Broadway, he quickly found that he enjoyed the trappings of luxurious hotels, sitting in his own lavishly appointed trailer on sets and riding in limos.
“They make you feel important,” he told The New York Times.

Adler said in a 2017 interview about his career taking off as a mature man: “You spend your whole career backstage.
Nobody knows who you are or even knows your name. They don’t know anything about you.
“And then you do a television show and suddenly you’re a celebrity and everyone knows your face. It’s so weird.”

Woody Allen made fun of him
If this guy showed me his stamp collection one more time - my favorite thing in life is to, you know, look at cancelled postage.
