by Anonymousreply 5August 23, 2025 11:21 PM

My favorite short: A Date With Your Family (The Woody Allen Story)

Swamp Diamonds (with Beverly Garden and Mike Connors) is not to be missed. Four female prison escapees go on a murdeous spree while searching for stashed diamonds hidden in a Louisianna bayou.

I preferred her sister Judy Garden

I like the movies. The rest seems really lame now. And one of the cringiest things I’ve ever seen is the live ones with the old guys reading unfunny scripted lines.

What about Mystery Science DINNER Theater?

by Anonymousreply 10August 24, 2025 4:11 AM

The early seasons with Joel and the original scientists are, of course, the best. My favorites were the Japanese monster films.

Gamera is really neat He is full of turtle meat.

Manos, the Hands of Fate sticks out as a favorite with friends. Also, the episodes with Commando Cody shorts, complete with his "nipple tweaking" flying controls. I used to giggle like Anderson Cooper when he jumped up and tweaked his nipples.

Yo! Huge Mstie. First episode I watched : Teenagers from Outer Space in the August of 92.

Still watch the shows. They are my asmr

by Anonymousreply 12August 24, 2025 6:28 AM

My favorite episodes would probably be:

I accuse my parents The attack of the The eye creatures The Killer Bees Teenagers from Outer Space The Touch of Satan

by Anonymousreply 13August 24, 2025 6:30 AM

*The Deadly Bees

by Anonymousreply 14August 24, 2025 6:32 AM

I learned my favorite historical fact from MST3K. That Benjamin Franklin invented the junk drawer.

by Anonymousreply 15August 24, 2025 6:55 AM

Manos: Hands of Fate is brilliant

by Anonymousreply 16August 24, 2025 11:02 PM

I love all the Gamera movies, especially Gamera vs Guiron. I wish they had made it all the way to Gamera: Super Monster; I'd have loved to see what they thought of the lesbian Power Rangers and the gayest Kenny in history.

Some other favorites are I Accuse My Parents, Prince of Space (I like it VERY MUCH!), Santa Claus and Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, The Final Sacrifice ("Rowsdower!"), and The Girl in Gold Boots.

I also loved Manos, but it also genuinely creeps me out, which kills the humor for me somewhat.

by Anonymousreply 17August 25, 2025 3:46 PM

My favorite are the shorts: Mr. B Natural, Posture Pals, Circus on Ice, and (especially) Design for Dreaming and Once Upon a Honeymoon.

"And a PHONE! A brand new PHONE! A bright red PHONE!"

IT STINKS!

by Anonymousreply 19August 25, 2025 4:36 PM

Mr. B Natural should be a gay camp icon

by Anonymousreply 20August 25, 2025 5:01 PM

Me! Huge fan especially of the Joel era. My favorite was "It Conquered the world!" and any of the Bert I. Gordon giant bug movies. I also often enjoyed the mental hygiene shorts better than the movies. "A Date With Your Family," anyone? "Why Industrial Arts?"

by Anonymousreply 21August 25, 2025 5:02 PM

My favorite short is an early General Hospital segment ("This is Pete from Props, don't eat the cake")

No, but I wish I had been. While I was growing up my best friend’s older brother was into it and I saw it a couple of times but I just didn’t get it.

Missed opportunity. It seems fun.

by Anonymousreply 23August 25, 2025 6:15 PM

It’s best enjoyed while young.

by Anonymousreply 24August 25, 2025 6:21 PM

Frankly, I’ve moved on to Red Letter Media, which sort of does the same thing.

by Anonymousreply 25August 25, 2025 6:22 PM

R23 I mean all the episodes are on youtube if you want to check them out. Its never too late.

by Anonymousreply 26August 25, 2025 6:27 PM
