A face for radio perhaps but definitely not a voice for it.

How he landed a spot as one of NPR's rotating hosts for ATC is beyond me. He's awful, always has been. NPR went through a period where every new host or co-host seemed to fit a very special DEI category - and yes, I'm going there. This was at the same time NPR decided against having hosts who were at least on the surface, objective and detached from the story being reported.

Ari fit the category of "the gay guy." Actually, he was "the emotional gay guy." I knew how overwrought, upset, "shocked, shocked I say!" he was as soon as he opened his mouth. Jesus he cried while interviewing someone (GROW A PAIR ARI).

And his palsy-walsy friendship with Alan Cumming made me nauseous.

The voice of NPR and the face of a llama.

He’s really just desperate to be taken seriously as a performer. His tour with Cumming was gross.

I will miss his daily comforting voice on NPR. I always meant to google him to see his face, but never got around to it. He looks just fine.
