Movies you wished would have been made

After reading the sequel to Waiting to Exhale, I so wished Whitney could have been around to film the sequel, it would have been fabulous.

Same with Ismael Merchant. Had he lived longer, The Goddess could have been filmed, and Tina Turner would have had the distinction of being cast in a Merchant Ivory movie.

Any others?

Somewhat not so what.

Hellboy 3, directed by Del Toro. He said the studio declined to make this movie because Hellboy 2 "only" grossed double the budget, not enough money for those fat cats.

Del Toro's version of The Hobbit. He wanted a dark fairytale aesthetic. The studio kept dicking him around with the production schedule so he withdrew to work on other stuff. Peter Jackson stepped in at the last minute and threw something together that looked similar to the LOTR trilogy but with WAY more CGI and filler scenes.

I wish "Something's Got To Give" (1962) could be completed using AI/deepfake/CGI. But this time with extensive nudity.

Alice Walker was right about Waiting to Exhale. She didn’t come out and say it, but you could tell she thought the book sucked. The movie was miles better than the book.

I really enjoyed it and I’m glad they’ve left it where it lays. Getting to Happy was dreadful.
