I saw yard signs about this when I was in Ohio for a memorial service. Strangely difficult to find info. It seems like a straightforward abuse case but the local police (a suburb where not much happens) and the county prosecutor took forever to charge the mother. Apparently the mother is pregnant and has had other children taken away. Lots of yard signs but they haven't met the GoFundMe goal. Perhaps DL childhood tragedy sleuths can find more about the case (or convince someone to change the little girl's unfortunate name).
This happens in a lot of child abuse/neglect cases causing death or serious injury. Sometimes the investigation can take years. I’m not exactly why. In my area I’ve seen news coverage of several parents who were arrested long after their child’s injury was injured or died.
