Graham Platner - Running against Ms. Concern (Susan Collins)

Just received a text message from Graham Platner’s campaign. He’s the Democrat running for the U.S. Senate from Maine.

Excerpted from his message:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nothing pisses me off more than getting a fundraising text from Democrats talking about how they're fighting fascism... Because it's such B.S. We're not idiots. Everyone knows most of them aren't doing jack right now to fight back.
People are being kidnapped into unmarked vans by masked police. There is a genocide happening in Palestine. Literal billionaires have taken over our government. And all Democratic leadership can do is send us another fundraising text?
My name is Graham Platner, and I'm the oyster farmer, Marine Corps veteran, and Democrat running for U.S. Senate against Susan Collins here in Maine. I'm not going to speak in platitudes or shy away from what I believe. There is a war going on in this country, and the oligarchy and the fascists are winning right now.
Susan Collins is the most vulnerable Republican senator in the country. We have an opportunity to replace her with a working-class Democrat - one who won't take money from corporations or AIPAC.
In the history of this nation, power has never been just willingly handed to the people. Another mealy-mouthed Democrat isn't going to fix things or protect our constitution. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What does anyone here from Maine or familiar with politics in Maine think of this guy’s chances? Are voters in Maine finally sick of Collins and ready to ditch her? Or is her power as a longtime incumbent too great?
I’m poor but I have thrown money at Democrats’ campaigns in North Carolina and Texas and Iowa and elsewhere believing they had serious chances, but I was so wrong. Could Graham Platner have a genuine chance? I do like what I’ve read.
We begged folks in Maine to vote for Sara Gideon in 2020 because Susan Collins has been concerned for so long and yet consistently votes with the Republicans on every last issue up to an including Trump's first impeachment which she famously and in a moment displaying that she is completely out-of-touch with reality, said "he's learned his lesson." No matter, they reelected her anyway so that she could return to Washington and vote against her constituents' interests again and again.
So no, don't waste your money. At least wait to see if this guy has even a remote chance, and that frankly depends on how deeply the recession impacts them personally. We aren't going to have a clue how 2026 will turn out for about a year, and even then the Pedo party is probably going to rig, cheat, lie and steal it anyway.
Just saw this on Imgur yesterday, hadn't even heard of him but then I live no where close to Maine.
Fox News and the GOP, but I repeat myself, are trying to label him as 'Maine's Mamdani'
Platner has to win the Democratic Primary first and supposedly current Gov. Janet Mills is also considering running for the Senate Seat. Hard for an unknown to beat a popular Governor.
People have totally forgotten how that old bitch (dressed in a trashy pleather skirt) lectured us about the founding fathers while voting against Dump's removal in the impeachment. I agree with R1 that Maine will probably send her back, but I voted 50/50 because anything is possible, especially if the economy really tanks in the next year.
I vote to lick his shitter.
It would be a shame if it came down to Gov. Janet Mills and him. She’s already stood up to Trump and she allowed Obamacare which the last creep governor refused so she’s done the right things. And this guy comes in? I dunno.
