I’ve thought it out and having the girls guest star in an episode of Murder, She Wrote would not work as it would be too serious and the hour long format would clash with the comedy.

But if Bea Arthur starred as her herself and became buddy buddy with Angela, it would work.

Too bad Mae West couldn’t have played Blanche’s mother because that would have been a hoot!

The girls go take a cruise and Gavin McLeod or MacLeod or McCloud or whatever, as the captain. Vincent Price also guests as a suave elderly man Sophia falls for, who may or may not be a mad scientist plotting to blow up the world.

No, Vincent Price should have played a ghost — or at least let the viewer guess if he really was a ghost.

Liza Minnelli as Sadie Jablonski, who lived next door to Sophia in Brooklyn and for whom Dorothy babysat. Sadie had a few rough years, financial issues and a failed marriage that damaged her self esteem. Dorothy and Blanche invite Sadie to visit in an effort to boost her morale.

Meanwhile, Blanche wants the lead role of Velma Kelly in the Miami Little Players production of Cabaret and fans over the male producer. Sadie remarks that she loves Chicago. Dorothy encourages Sadie to try out but the poor woman lacks confidence and feels she has no talent. Ultimately, Sadie trys out, blows everyone away and lands the role. Blanche is pissed.

Thr girls give Blanche a lecture about not being self centered and how good the experience will be for Sadie. Blanche Ultimately agrees. The episode ends with Sadie in the show singing part of All That Jazz. The last shot shows the girls, led by Blanche giving Sadie a standing ovation.

Lucille Ball as widow Lucy Ricardo vacationing in Miami enroute to visit the late Ricky’s refugee Cuban relatives, but lost in a Publix Supermarket.

Bette Davis guest stars, doing her best Southern accent as Blanche's Aunt Jezebel, who has absconded with the church funds from her home town in Alabama. "Ah'd love ta kiss ya..."

Dixie Carter as the principal of the school Dorothy is teaching at. They butt heads over Dorothy's teaching methods and have a knock down drag out catfight.

Charles Nelson Reilly as the caterer's sensitive assistant. When he accidentally uses Plaster of Paris to thicken the soup for Blanche's Confederate Dinner Gala, hilarity ensues!

Dick Sargent as...someone or other.

Holland Taylor as Jean's sister, who comes to Miami to tell Dorothy she's always been in love with her, causing Blanche to have a nervous breakdown.

Grant Goodeve as Biff, Anson Williams as Doug and Barry Williams as Skippy who surprise their mother Blanche for her 45th birthday. The festivities come to a screeching halt when Skippy has an asthma attack and his inhaler is nowhere to be found.

Charlotte Rae as Rose and Sophia's hot lunch nemesis.

Nell Carter as The Rusty Anchor's new lounge singer. Dorothy and Blanche team up to take her down.

Charles Nelson Reilly as Coco’s partner who appears in search of Coco.
