I’ve been in NY my entire life. August was always the hottest month of the year here. Now it gets cool during August.

The climate is truly changing.

Hurricane Erin. Day after day of cooler, grayer, wetter weather here in the mid-Atlantic region.

Not complaining.

Yeah this weather is definitely crazy. I’m usually cooking in NYC this time of year. Not this year. Very bizarre. Fall has already started. This feels like early October.

I'm loving it and taking advantage of the opportunity to spend more time outside.

August is usually a boiling, miserable, humid hellscape.

Old people are frail and easily get the chills.

After so many incredibly hot and humid days since June, I welcome the cool front that has finally moved over NYC. I also grew up in NY, and I can recall periods of consecutive summer days where the highs were only the in low or mid 70s, and the evening were in the low 60s, and people would have sweaters or light jackets with them.

OP, I think it felt colder than it was because we’d gotten accustomed to a number of hellishly hot days here.

I thought today was more than pleasant. But it’s true that a chill wind swept through the middle of Brooklyn right around 5:00 PM.

I had to wear a blazer to work today for the first time in months. I didn't even break a sweat on the walk to work from Hells Kitchen to Bryant Park. However, my office is like a deep freeze! Had my space heater on!

LA has been very cool all Summer, and now it's heating up.

When the East Coast is hot, we're cool. And when you're cool, we're hot.

Weird.

We always get one or two of these cool Fall-like days in August for as long as I can remember.
