Ugh! I got robbed.
Came home from an eleven hour workday to find someone had busted out my backdoor and rummaged through my house.
They stole some old colognes (Gaultier, Versace, etc...) but other than that nothing else.
My circuit board is on my utility porch so as soon as they got in they flipped every switch so my indoor cameras got nothing.
They spoke with my neighbor in the home behind mine and she gave them a description of someone she saw in the alley that separates our homes around the time my cameras shut off.
I was mainly worried about my 3 cats cause I could only find 2 when I got home. I figured he got out but when I was finished showering a few moments ago there he was eating/drinking out of his dishes so I'll sleep with much relief tonight.

That is some weird thieving.

Same thing happened to my sister and her husband. All their scents.but a lot of other stuff was taken as well and the thieves used their suitcases to cart it away.

Are you sure it wasn't just some ex-trick looking for you, OP?

They stole cologne? That stinks. It makes no scents.

r5 "but a lot of other stuff was taken as well"
Then how is it the same thing?

I think you had an ex, ex trick or an old friend as your thief.

R9, the colognes. It was the first time I'd heard of it.

The police should be on the lookout for someone who smells wonderful.

This is possibly the gayest crime of the century

Not if they left the dildos behind

You weren’t robbed. You were burglarized.

I went to Home Depot and had some thick, sturdy plywood cut so I nailed and screwed it over the busted door til I can have a replacement delivered/installed.
Yeah, it's just weird that all they took was cologne. I hope the police catch him. They said the description the neighbor's wife gave was very strong.

Someone was suggested that you should always leave $200 on your kitchen counter - assuming an intruder will go wow grab it and leave with a sense of success.

They only stole old cologne? Were they time travelers from the '80s?

OP, he took your signature fragrances. This is identity theft! Aren't you concerned that some swishy thug is out there smelling just like you? You could be blamed for all of the next crimes he commits.

I would be terrified to go to sleep in that house.
Are you not terrified OP?

Maybe OP has nothing worth stealing for pawn. If the colognes are pricey they will sell them online.

This never happened. Try harder, OP.

Do you have insurance? If so, they stole your computer, some jewelry, cash, clothes, art, a tv...milk the claim and get new stuff!

Sorry that happened, OP. But I'm glad for you that your babies are safe.

I had a BFF who worked at a perfume counter and had a cabinet display of antique bottles. I imagine if they were stolen she would have been devastated.

[Quote]… someone had busted out my backdoor
I feel you, hunty. It’s happened to me more times than I can remember.

The intruder sounds like a fetishist. I'd do a black inspection of the whole house, followed by a professional deep clean.

R31, my gentlemen callers make it a point to bust out my back door on a daily basis. And if they don't, or can't or won't, they do not get invited back.

Maybe the robber was stinky.

That's such a violation, OP. Did they at least leave your Clive Christians and Amouages, not knowing what they are?

OP they will be back. They likely did a quick run-through to see what things of value first .
