Glenn Gets New Gig Abroad

I know I'm just lazy, but if I were pushing 80, and had tons of money, I would not be constantly seeking out work. I'd have a few pets, a big nice house with a yard, and a housekeeper, and just chill out.

I don't know -- sounds like fun to me.

Besides, she won't have to leave the US because of you-know-who -- she's already gone.

It's not like she's spent decades grinding out a 40-50 hour work week. She's had lots of free time over the years between projects and can continue to work or not work as she pleases. I assume many actors continue to work past normal "retirement age" for those reasons.

What I don’t understand is she keeps choosing things that won’t win her the Oscar.

That is usually the goal isn’t it?

She's gonna wait out T in the UK while filming a cute little show and getting fawned over left and right. What's not to love.

I thought she was playing Queen Maud of Norway. That would have been exciting!

Losing for The Wife broke something inside her, she's thrown in her towel where Oscars are concerned. And you know what, good for her.

She probably knows that she should have won for Albert Nobbs. That was an Oscar-worthy performance.

R11 agreed. It’s my favorite of her performances. She and Malkovich were brilliant together.

She must be pissed that she is being pushed out of the Sunset Boulevard movie. This sounds awful (elderly woman is a serial killer).

An Oscar is a not sales award for the most units sold, r11.

Before I scrolled to the picture, I thought this was about Glenn Greenwald getting an even better assignment than Brazil from Putin.

She was great in the Israeli spy drama “Tehran”, and she even did a fair bit of Farsi. I was impressed.

If she didn't win for this she ain't never gonna win.

Given the quality and breadth of her work over decades, her lack of an Oscar is more a reflection on the Academy’s poor judgement than on her talent.

Personally, I hope she is nominated/awarded in the future, and I kind of hope that she tells them to go fuck themselves.
