Watching episodes of Oh Madeline on Youtube.
You would think that giving Madeline Kahn her own sitcom would have been gold. It's even produced by the team that did The Cosby Show, Roseanne and others.
But it's just off. It's not bad, but it's not laugh out loud funny either. Maybe the character isn't quirky enough, but she doesn't stand out like she did in her movies. It's a generic sitcom.

Although a complete rip-off of an episode of The Lucy Show, the one with Johnny Mathis is pretty funny.

It was a dud of a show, but I still enjoyed it - especially the episode that stared the LEGENDARY Charles Ludlam of The Ridiculous Theatrical Company. Kahn and Ludlam went to Hofstra University together.

Wasn’t it the first Carsey -Werner sitcom?

As I recall, “Hart to Hart” suffered as a result of following “Oh, Madeline,” which proved to be a poor lead-in for the long-running detective series and both were cancelled by season’s end. To be fair, though, “Hart” was in its fifth season by this time and both were up against NBC’s powerhouse lineup of “A-Team,” “Riptide” and “Remington Steele,” so they had an uphill battle all season long.
