OK makes my shithole state positively progressive.
Are teachers from NY and CA clamoring for jobs in shithole OK?

As long as you watch the same porn he does during the board meetings….
by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 17, 2025 8:43 PM |
Im not aware of anyone in a blue state contemplating the shift to a red at this point in time. Its actually one of the few times I dont hear my mother mentioning friends of hers moving to FL (CT winters are a bitch, but right now that seems like small potatoes compared to other states problems).
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 17, 2025 8:48 PM |
Which Shothole do you live in, OP?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 17, 2025 8:49 PM |
Ranked 50th in the nation. Dropped one or two places since he became "education" tsar.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 17, 2025 8:51 PM |
He's high on the delusion that people in blue states are disgusted with "woke" and ready to return to the simple life like Candace Owens moving to Tennessee or Musk moving to Texas.
Or that MAGA guy who fled the gays by moving to Russia.
Common sense is not a flower that grows in his garden.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 17, 2025 8:59 PM |
Maybe start with the leader of his party.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 17, 2025 9:01 PM |
Woke is annoying, anti-woke is fascist.
The left is already distancing itself from extreme woke. Meanwhile, the right is leaning into fascism.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 17, 2025 9:01 PM |
Those prospective teachers would be better off teaching chimps at California zoos.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 17, 2025 9:23 PM |
[quote]Regardless of the subject or grade they teach, they'll have to show they know "the biological differences between females and males" and that they agree with the state's American history standards, which includes elements of a conspiracy theory that the Democratic Party stole the 2020 presidential election from President Donald Trump, which fact checkers have said are false.
Any liberals with kids in the state should sue to stop them from teaching the children these disgusting and dangerous lies.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 17, 2025 9:30 PM |
I assume this is retaliation for universities around the country rushing to check if students admitted to their institutions from Oklahoma high schools are able to tell fact from fiction.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 17, 2025 9:34 PM |
Teachers from CA and NY going to OK?? That would be like Dian Fossey going to Rwanda to study rituals of lower primates.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 17, 2025 9:40 PM |
[quote]Are teachers from NY and CA clamoring for jobs in shithole OK?
No. That's not happening. Oklahoma ranks at the bottom of American educational standards and outcomes. And Oklahoma doesn't just rank at the bottom for education - it ranks at the bottom for pretty much everything. Teachers from good states aren't even considering going there.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 17, 2025 9:46 PM |
Red states don't pay teachers enough to care about what they are teaching.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 17, 2025 9:54 PM |
This isn’t legal. How can they require only teachers form certain states. And what qualifies being from a certain state, “last place of residence, institution where degree was attained, location on the birth certificate”.? This will never pass. They are going to require everyone no matter place of birth to adhere to the requirement. They tagged it that way to boost up their ignorant base. They’re going to have to make any potential teacher do it which is still dysfunctional but legal. Fucking Magas make me sick. I wouldn’t mind if they all woke up tomorrow and spontaneously combusted.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 17, 2025 11:49 PM |
It's the neverending American MAGA culture wars R14.

[quote]Teachers from California and New York who want to work in Oklahoma public schools
... If any even exist, will be the most desperate, unemployable teachers out there. OK doesn't pay teachers diddly squat.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 18, 2025 12:10 AM |
R16 I can’t even think of an Oklahoma college or university. which attracts students from national areas like that. They are just playing manipulating with words and data. The only situation that would create a significant talent pool from New York and Cali would be some large university that attracts students from all over the country that many red states have but Oklahoma doesn’t even have THAT. No disrespect to fine regional institutions educating the populace there.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 18, 2025 12:25 AM |
I can't wait to move from CA and start teaching in Oklahoma!!!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 18, 2025 12:30 AM |
R3, you must be from OK. I am from Florida and love my state but tolerate the DL zings and agree with many of them.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 18, 2025 12:32 AM |
The only way any teacher from NY or CA would even consider moving to OK in the current environment is if the pay were outstanding. And you know the pay isn't even close to that. I'm sure it's probably terrible actually.

When are these backwards traveling Old West states going to secede?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 18, 2025 12:34 AM |
Oklahoma schools Superintendent Ryan Walters was also the man who put Trump bibles in every classroom in the Oklahoma. What an achievement! :(

by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 18, 2025 12:35 AM |
Why can’t some Dem talk about George Jr. really truly stealing that election? Letting go of that may have accelerated where we are today. We started to give up then.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 18, 2025 12:38 AM |
Oklahoma used to have middling education and now it’s almost dead last.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 18, 2025 12:42 AM |
Likely not, but certainly not NOW
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 18, 2025 12:50 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 18, 2025 12:58 AM |
Performance art for the rubes. How many applications can they possibly get from teachers from NY /Cali looking to teach in Oklahoma? The worst schools and low pay…sign me up for that.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 18, 2025 1:08 AM |
It's illegal to require anyone to prove their political beliefs, or even disclose them.
They never have enough money to educate their children, but they always have money to pay for losing lawsuits.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 18, 2025 1:09 AM |
R26, you are delusional if you think Bush stole an election. Repubs do pull all kind of scams to keep Dem voters away and gerrymander like crazy. But the movement in this country has been away from the Democrats towards Republicans. I don’t see a miracle on the horizon to change that either.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 18, 2025 1:12 AM |
They will absolutely wet themselves with glee if they get even 1 applicant from New York or California wanting to move to Oklahoma and teach there.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 18, 2025 1:13 AM |
I think you're wrong, R32.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 18, 2025 1:34 AM |
This is just his latest effort to bait liberals and make them mad. He has to do something to distract people after his porn viewing habits were exposed.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 18, 2025 1:35 AM |
This is the same guy who watched porn at a meeting? And the hicks in OK still keep him in his job?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 18, 2025 1:42 AM |
The Left still hasn’t come to terms with the fact that at the end of the day America is a very conservative country. It’s not Portland.

Avg teacher's salary, 2024:
California - $101,084
New York - $ 95,615
Oklahoma - $ 61,330
To be fair: Cost of living
Oklahoma - #5 in Affordability, #4 Cost of Living
New York - #45 in Affordability, #45 Cost of Living
California - #50 in Affordability, #50 Cost of Living

We are in a good district in the exurbs of LA. Most of my kid’s teachers make $125,000 or more.
Even so, we have had some terrible teachers. Administration is even worse— they lie to you just for the fun of it.
And these are presumably the “good” teachers.
I can’t imagine what the “I’m so terrible, I need to look for work in OK” teachers would be like.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 18, 2025 1:56 AM |
It’s called supply and demand, r39. There’s a ton of supply of Oklahoma but hardly any demand for it. Nobody lives there on purpose. It’s like a career in porn: no one exactly plans for it nor grows up dreaming of it.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | August 18, 2025 1:59 AM |
I live in the suburbs of Philly.
The last newsletter from the local school district stated the average annual teacher salary was 80-85K.
Oddly enough, there was no mention of any mass exodus of teachers to Oklahoma.

That state needs another Dust Bowl.
