Trump should have been torn limb from limb on November 6, 2024. All the armed, mentally ill, psychopaths in the US??? There is no excuse for him to still be breathing.

Everything Trump touches dies. Including 10 million people's health.

One of the most incomprehensible thread titles yet.

R3 - I think OP meant "10M people will lose insurance due to GOP policy law: CBO". He left out the 1.

R4 Thanks, I read on, and figured out what OP meant.
But I was just commenting on my first impression of the title. I was trying to figure out what the "OM people" were. Maybe Hindus.

The new GOP line is "Who deserves Medicaid...."
One part of this law denies insurance to the "abled bodied" who aren't working. This is a tiny percentage, but the states that have already tried this ended their programs because of the massive bureaucracy that goes into determining whether people are working. They have to check constantly and people have to keep providing documents showing they work.
Of course, in time, people get sick of having to prove it over and over so stop trying, particularly if they're healthy and think they don't need insurance. Studies show this does not increase the number of Medicaid eligible in the work force.
But the GOP know all this very well. They assume this rule would reduce Medicaid expenditures by $1 trillion, making the deficit a bit less as they shovel money to the rich

[quote]White people.
Since Reagan, the GOP has spread the lie that Black people need welfare benefits, including Medicaid, more....allowing white people to make the association that they are funding Black people and, thus, Black people don't deserve Medicaid.
In actuality, Whites have always been the majority recipients of welfare benefits, including Medicaid. Generally poor, rural Whites didn't vote so no one cared about cutting their benefits.
MAGA, however, is made up alot of these people. So Surprise, you're going to die!
