Bassett married actor Courtney B. Vance in 1997. Still married! They first met at Yale School of Drama, then became a couple over a decade later, when their paths crossed again in Los Angeles.
She is a Pentecostal Evangelical Christian and a member of the West Angeles Church of God in Christ (Church of God in Christ), located in Los Angeles.
