I worked briefly with her maybe a decade ago, and it was in her house. She had all sorts of cool photos of her when she was younger. Even in her early 80's, she was statuesque. Really stunning woman.

The statuesque Miss Newmar stood at 5'11", much too tall for a leading lady of the '50s & '60s, which explains why roles for her were usually limited to glamazons, robots, and comic book supervillains.

As well as a female dancer. Hard to partner. Which is why Dorcas got stuck with the non-dancing brother.

So, one inch taller than Paula Prentiss.

A threesome with 1960s Julie Newmar and Lesley Gore is the first thing I want if a working Holodeck was announced tomorrow.
Yes, I would deep clean it for the next person in line because I'm polite.

Love her.

My Living Doll intro.
This could not be made today, unless done with irony. And with feminist messaging aimed at challenging/deconstructing the patriarchy.

During the 1990s she decided to get plastic surgery. I thought she was aging remarkably well for someone around 60, but in youth obsessed Hollywood most people eventually get something done. She never look natural after that.

Julie Oldmar, I'd say.

She had her only child at age 49. Unfortunately her son was born with down syndrome. She is a remarkable mother and still takes care of him at her age.

Julie with her Lil Abner co-star, Tina Louise, Camilla Sparv, and Erik Estrada.

Someone I used to work with said that when he worked at whole foods she would demand to help her outside with her groceries which she was happy to do but that she was still a total b**** to him and not at all kind or grateful.

Have the "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar" DVD signed by her. That is her real signature in the art work, Really cool autograph, not chicken scratch that "stars"charge hundreds for today. That and the "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers" DVD. Thanks CHILLER!

R8, are you a straight guy?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 17, 2025 4:07 AM |
Would it make a difference?

Those chubby little straight munchkin chicks who are known for loudlly invading gay bars hate it when we gays admire tall statuesque accomplished women.

Her hair always seemed to be somewhat modern (by today's standards) in comparison to her peers. No helmet-head Wyman perms for Julie

Being as tall as she is, putting heels and a helmet head on her would make her 6'4".
Did you know that she trained under Marcel Marceau for miming?

Saw an old Newsday, Long Island's own newspaper from the 60's and she appearing at the Westbury Music Fair ( In the round) as Lola in "Damn Yankees".

Hearing her interviewed on (I think it was) the late Gilbert Gottfried’s podcast she seemed like a real oddball. Kind of on a another planet.
