ICE...Be outraged

I'm surprised they haven't killed someone. They are brutes. Thugs. And the truth is anyone can be arrested. All you have to do is be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The wrong place can be a supermarket, walking down the street , going to school or work, going to the mall . They actually wait outside the hearings at Immigration and arrest people as they leave. If they don't like the way you look they will arrest you.

Someone was killed (by a car) yesterday while running away from an ICE raid at a Home Depot.

The fact that people might die is a feature, not a bug, to this administration.

Also, this is exactly the tactics you see in authoritarian countries. When Russia began its invasion in Ukraine, some Russian citizens took to the streets to protest. The state police thugs would pick a few people at random in the crowd to tackle, arrest, and carry away. There might be some kid just walking along the street trying to get a late night snack. He might not even have a sign or be getting agitated like the others. But bam, he gets it. The message being sent was that it doesn't matter if you're not one of the loud or aggressive protestors. Just showing up to the protest or even being on the same street as the protestors is putting yourself in danger.

Exactly, R5. And all intentional. There's no effort to blame rogue officers or promise tightening of training procedures, and the more distant the connection between fucking up a random innocent, uninvolved individual to halfway reasonable goal, the better.

Turn loose thugs and let them beat the shit out of someone, anyone in the name of anti-inmigration and it's red meat to shithead supporters of Trump and a portend of worse to come.

Like the frog in a pot of water being slowly brought to the boil, the purpose is to normalize these images, these events, making event decent people numb to the worse things planned for later.
