I'm someone who has lost maybe 20 lbs. and packed on some muscle after taking workout classes for over two years.

I feel like a different person now, and I still have a ways to go.

I can't imagine being that big and telling yourself it's okay. All that money from THIS IS US, and she can't take it off.

I'm going to get a second job so I can afford my trainer.

She really does strike me as a lovely and nice person.

If she chose to, she could consume some number of calories smaller than the number she burned, and in do so would lose weight. She may even be doing that already, but not to a significant enough degree to be noticeable, and so she would need to choose to increase the deficit.

It's a choice between feeling hunger pangs and being fat. For some people, they prefer to be fat than feel hungry.

She's lucky she is pretty enough to still look good despite her issues with weight. However morbid obsity takes its toll so she needs to lose weight before she has to because of a major health catastrophe or chronic illness. Like my mom says, "If you don't have to time to work out, you better make time to be sick."

Someone was uploading scenes from This Is Us on TikTok and the absolute venom in the comments regarding how unlikeable/unwatchable her character is was off the charts. I feel like that might explain why people perceive her negatively as well. Plus she was supposed to lose weight as part of a contractual agreement with the show as part of the character arc. The fact that they used that as a gimmick to sell the show and then made a million excuses as she remained huge (and even got bigger, which was explained as a pregnancy) from season to season made her lose a lot of credibility.
