We inhale a credit card’s worth of plastic daily

According to a new study, humans can inhale more than 70,000 microplastic particles each day in an indoor environment – far more than previously thought. Worse still, most of them are small enough to penetrate deep into our lungs.

And what are we supposed to do about it?

by Anonymousreply 1August 12, 2025 3:38 PM

I ain't paying any interest or late fees on that shit.

by Anonymousreply 2August 12, 2025 3:42 PM

Not me!

Support politicians who propose the reduce the use of plastics by corporations. And who support research into the issue.

Just because a bad thing is happening doesn’t mean you just throw up your hands and surrender. It’s the same thing with global warming. People are just putting their heads in the sand.

Too fucking late.

Besides, people still live longer than they ever have before, right?

by Anonymousreply 5August 12, 2025 4:04 PM

I don’t believe that.

by Anonymousreply 6August 12, 2025 4:07 PM

between the ultra-processed foods, the plastic we inhale, the lack of real physical activity and the dumbing down of the younger generation, can anyone take a guess how things will look in just 30 years from now?

I'll likely be gone (I can't see myself living to 86).

You might have a hard time doing that.

But then again, maybe not — with a body full of plastic, maybe you’ll be more buoyant when your neighborhood is inundated by the sea.

This is all hysteria and the entire microplastics thing has been debunked. It does nothing. We’ve always had it.

by Anonymousreply 9August 12, 2025 5:27 PM

False.

Too bad, because I've already charged $100,000 on the cards in my lungs

by Anonymousreply 11August 12, 2025 5:37 PM

From here on out, I will insist my suck buddies remove those polyurethane condoms, as I try to inhale the contents of all those dicks.

by Anonymousreply 12August 12, 2025 7:12 PM

But vaccines are the cause of autism!

by Anonymousreply 13August 13, 2025 3:42 AM

"We've always had it"

No we haven't

by Anonymousreply 14August 13, 2025 5:54 PM

What is the credit limit on that credit card, I might want to charge something.

by Anonymousreply 15August 14, 2025 2:44 PM

We’re all going to die . . .

by Anonymousreply 16August 14, 2025 4:07 PM

Either way, we are ingesting way too much plastic. It’s found in so many of our organs, including our brains—and that can never be a good thing.

It will take another generation before we start addressing this on a big scale
