Leonardo DiCaprio now looks 60 instead of 50
Saw the trailer for Leonardo DiCaprio’s new film, One Battle After Another, and the man could easily pass for 60-65. Benicio Del Toro was also in the same trailer and actually looked years younger when he’s actually older than Leo by 8 years.
Honey, he’s been rode hard and put away wet.

Obviously.
When he was young he looked like a boiled shrimp with a blond wig. By 25, that big enflamed pustule of a head had begun its unending until death arc of engorgement and decay.
The man is painful to the eyes.

I said it before - DiCaprio is a modern day Mickey Rooney - they both went straight from adolescence to middle age, without ever being adult, mature (noy to mention sexy) men.

Could never stand him or understand his appeal. Was never impressed with his talent. Found his box office appeal baffling.
He's not attractive to me, he's not at all good looking, his face has always had an elfin quality that is both infantilizing and feminizing, and yet he's neither pretty or cute. He's hideous to me -- I'll just leave it at that.
His acting talent? That high-pitched whine-and-squint-and scream thing that he calls acting? Again, repellent. Completely confusing how this no-talent fuggo ever got work beyond "Family Ties."

I never understood why he was chosen out of all the young actors at the time to star in "Titanic," let alone his popularity once the movie was released.

He’s looked terrible for nearly two decades. He’s from the (fortunately dying) generation of actors that is absolutely terrified of appearing un-masculine and who regards acting as some sort of weird physical endurance exercise rather than an exhibition of actual talent. Part of that is that he refuses to appear to be attractive on film and insists on looking bedraggled, fat, ugly and sweaty. This weirdness has extended to his public appearance as well. It’s pathetic. I haven’t bothered with him since The Departed.

I like Leo. He's been in some very good movies. The Departed is one of my favorite movies. Titanic was fun. Enjoyed Catch Me If You Can, Gangs of New York, Gatsby and he was brilliant in Gilbert Grape. In Once Upon a Time in Hollywood he did a great job playing an actor! LOL! And in Killers of the Flower Moon he was very convincing as a loser .

My elderly grandfather was fascinated by Titanic. He was born in 1912. So when Leo's Titanic came out I invited him to a Sunday matinee to see it. Right after the Ice berg hits the ship, he had to go t o the bathroom. So I walked him over to the bathroom. He took forever. When he finally emerged, I said "hurry, we're missing the movie!" and he said, very loudly to much laughter, " Soi what! The boat sinks. "
OK. Maybe you had to be there but it was hilarious at the time .His delivery was perfect.

Because he's a fucking movie star and he's worth millions, every penny of which was put into his pockets by movie-going fans. I'm a fucking nobody who works in an office and I put more effort into my appearance. He could maybe shave, wear sunscreen, lose 20 lbs, cut back to 6 liters of whisky a week and waddle over to the closet for some unwrinkled clothes once in a while.

DiCaprio and Matt Damon are both graduates of the look deep into the distance and deliver your lines with all the determination of someone taking a 2-hour long painful shit. Above all, look serious. Deeply serious.
Damon at least has The Talented Mr Ripley, in which he was sometimes way off mark but the strength of the story and all else made him look better. A high tide raises all ships.

He was achingly beautiful in Romeo + Juliet. Sitting there in the theater, I actually felt something akin to romantic love for him, which never happens.
I remember a gasp in the audience on opening night of Titanic at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood when you first saw his eyes flashing over his sketchpad. That was his power.
I remember Bryant Gumbel giving him a hard time for playing gay characters in Basketball Diaries and Total Eclipse. He handled it so deftly, and had such intelligence behind his eyes.
His charisma has worn off, and Baz Lurhmann knew it was happening, he filmed this scene at the last possible moment of Leo's beauty.
Its all gone now, but he does WORK. He was very good in that Scorsese Native American joint.
Give me Leo looking through the fish tank at Claire Danes any day of the week. He was IT.

I find him decent enough in some films, but usually I can picture a number of people in his role doing a better job. The acting is passable but unremarkable. He's a bit better than Kevin Costner, but sort of in that same range for me. Serviceable, but I would never say he was a great actor, really.
