What would life be like without Stevie Wonder, Elton John, or Prince records? Yet we constantly bicker over female diva ship. Why do we act like George Michael’s discography in the 80s wasn’t just as important if not more so than Madonna’s decade catalogue. Don Henley’s The End of Innocence is one the best albums of all time. We have let media and fashion queens, ie the 1 percent, overly define our tastes.
Gays, why do we cherish female singers more than our male faves

It's a gay thing.

I love Omar Apollo and Lucky Daye.

Also, historically, male performers have never welcomed attention from gay male music fans. It was a turn off to have gay male artists constantly denying their queerness, or having straight male performers engaging in or endorsing homophobia. There is safety in loving female artists.

Name a straight male star who likes having gay fans? Imagine Dragons? (though they use their platform to weirdly promote Mormons)?
Dave Grohl when in Foo Fighters did AIDS-denying benefit concerts as late as 2003 for that crazy Karen Christine Maggiore who killed her kid by refusing AIDS drugs. He doesn't mention this in his Wikipedia.

I always wondered why gay icons weren’t gay men and women. Why are they straight women. It used to be organic now it’s a marketing gimmick for pop stars.
