I'm watching it for the first time and largely enjoy it except for two things...
One is Sugar. Why is this woman so annoying? Also, the family dynamics do not seem fucked up Italian American at all. I am Italian American and there is none of the guilt or sense of sacrifice for the men that I'd expect to see. It's more like a version of the family in Six Feet Under.
