She shouldn’t be hurting for money. Found this on her Wikipedia page:
In 2016, she sold the Malibu home that she had purchased at the age of 11 in 1969. She bought the 1950s beach bungalow for $55,000 and sold it for $3.9 million.

I doubt she will dish any real dirt but I hope Susan Olsen catches some strays. She let it slip in an interview that Eve refuses to talk to her after she sabotaged a proposed "Brady" reboot with her MAGA conspiracy bs.
And we all know Eve is a messy b*tch who can hold a grudge!

The irony is she’s participated in MANY BB reunions, except the variety hour, which she was smart as hell to avoid. I don’t care what her wiki page says, and that she has plenty of money from selling her house. MORE money always talks.

There's a clip from Andy Cohen's talk show where he's interviewing the cast and Eve claims she's never seen the Brady Bunch movies. I'm sure the internet would have exploded if Maureen, sitting next to her would have dropped a perfectly timed, Sure Jan.

by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 10, 2025 1:52 AM |
She's been a miserable and humorless on every talk show she's ever been on. Refuses to engage with any Brady anecdotes or trivia. Yet the only reason she is even invited on these talk shows is to share Brady anecdotes. She's been a tiny bit better since the Brady house renovation show but not much, still dour.
If she's asked about any behind the scenes shenanigans or bloopers, she says she doesn't remember.
If she's asked about her favorite episode she says she doesn't have one, if she's pushed she reluctantly says either Hawaii or Grand Canyon.

Oddly enough, the writers of the show loved her, which is why she was given so many showcase episodes where basically Jan freaked out (over having a dull personality and needing a wig, over being in Marcia's shadow, over looking like Aunt Jenny, etc.). the writers were convinced she was the best child actor on the show and gave her more "dramatic" episodes than they did for the other children.
She also got much better work than the other kids did when the show ended--whe was cast in more TV movies than any of the other kids were. but then it dried up when she grew up to be a somewhat dowdy adult.

Her most bizarre appearance had to be on an episode of One Day at a Time that she did around the time of her guest star appearance on Facts of Life. She plays Howard Hesseman's date the first time he shows up and meets Barbara and Ann Romano.
She's in the show all of two minutes and has one or two lines. I was stunned at the end when I found out it was her and wondered why she would accept such a nothing role, unless she needed the money. But they couldn't writer her something a little more substantial?
Shit, even Susan Richardson got a couple of episodes on One Day playing a friend of Barbara and Mark's.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | August 10, 2025 7:34 PM |
R55 I think around this time she was still trying to make a career as an actress, and taking what she could get. This was around the time after the Brady Brides series. She’s admitted that they threw a lot of money at her to do Brady Brides and that’s the only reason she did it.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | August 10, 2025 11:14 PM |

Eve appeared on a very early episode of That '70 Show, as Jackie's realtor mother. It was essentially a cameo (just a couple lines), but her delivery was funny. Eve was close to getting the lead in Prom Night, but the producers went with Jamie Lee Curtis once she expressed interest. It would have been interesting to see Eve in a project like that. It's ironic that her memoir is titled "Happiness Included" when she always seemed the most reluctant cast member to want to be associated with the The Brady Bunch.
I mean, I can't blame her when you keep having to live your life through the lens of a truly stupid, hollow and ridiculous show from 50 years ago. But I guess at some point especially as you age, you either completely remove yourself from the entire situation or somewhat embrace it and welcome the attention. To be serious for a moment, I can really respect Susan Dey's behavior. She doesn't want to be a part of the whole nostalgia thing, so she stays home and stays quiet. No talk shows. No memoirs. She doesn't tease with an appearance and then refuse to talk about The Partridge Family. Whether you like that stance or not, she has, in the most Datalounge way, stated her boundaries and stuck to them. And power to her!

Well, Susan Dey went on to do major motion pictures and a whole other hit series. People don’t as relentlessly tie her to one role.

Echo Park was amazing. Definitely worth hunting down.
She showed more range in Echo Park than I ever expected from her. I can easily see her getting LA Law after she was in Echo Park.

Looker was on cable a lot in the early 80s. Great cast with Albert Finney, James Coburn and of course dl fav Susan. Worth a watch.

I recall back in the '80s, one of Late Night with David Letterman's top ten lists about failed Jeopardy categories included From Looker to Echo Park, the films which Susan Dey appeared naked.

I work in book publishing.
Kensington Publishing while a respectable book publisher, is not one of the major houses. I'd suspect that she sold her memoir there after the other major publishers passed. The truth is that these type of memoirs don't sell as amazingly as DL denizens would believe.
If this is a cash grab (which I don't believe it is given her history of modest living and continuous employment), it would be a very minor one at that. I'd guess she'll make tens of thousands of dollars not hundreds.
If she was desperately in search of cash she'd make comparable money quickly on the autograph convention circuit which she has to my knowledge completely avoided.
by Anonymous | reply 146 | August 16, 2025 2:16 PM |
She doesn't seem the type to go through money fast. If she sold her Malibu house for millions years ago, she probably still has most of it.

I don't agree with the Eve Plumb hate on here. She was the ONLY professional on the cast - performing since she was a little girl with both parents in show business. She's had other amazing roles after BB..and was too busy to do the reunion which people interpreted that she wasn't interested - she's a popular artist and has sold many pieces - her husband and her also have an extremely successful business for flipping condos......she always was above and beyond the rest of the cast working steadily and successfully. She's a cut above the rest - yet people think she's the desperate one - she isn't at all.

by Anonymous | reply 164 | August 17, 2025 1:18 AM |
All the Brady girls skipped one revival. Eve skipped the Brady Bunch Hour, Susan skipped The Christmas movie and Maureen skipped The Bradys, so this idea that Eve is somehow less a willing participant in Brady fandom is silly.
Maureen's book was bonkers and IF she embellished or exaggerated a same sex affair between her and Eve to sell books then I could understand why Eve would be upset. It's not homophobic, it's lying.
Susan is a drunk. I saw her at a con and she could barely focus and it took her great effort to stand and pose for photos. She has that pickled look that old drunks get. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if she's the first to croak.
by Anonymous | reply 165 | August 17, 2025 3:27 AM |
[quote]Susan is a drunk.
Oh yeah she is. I was a producer on a morning radio show back in the early 2000s and we got her to agree to do a couple of hours as a stunt DJ. We told her to show up to be on the air around 8:30. She was supposed to show up about a half hour before so she could get settled and she did but she was already so fucking drunk she was incoherent. Her then boyfriend/manager was really apologetic but we were pissed and told him it would have been better if she'd just cancelled. She slept on the sofa in our break room for about an hour until the BF could rouse her and drag her out. Yeah we took pictures.

Lloyd Schwartz guested on Barry & Chris' podcast a few years ago and confirmed all of that, down to Joyce beginning wardrobe fittings when the change was made.
Interestingly, the switch from Joyce to Florence also precipitated a change in Alices. Sherwood thought Joyce was quite funny, a natural comedic actress (which Florence was not). With Joyce in mind, he'd cast an actress named Monty Margetts to play Alice -- who, while funny, would have been a straighter, sterner version of Alice (I can't remember exactly how Lloyd put it). But once the change was made to Florence, Sherwood felt they needed a much funnier Alice, someone who could really deliver a laugh every time. Enter Ann B. Davis.
