To be fair, he's genuinely heavily involved with that franchise and it only gets made because of him. Furthermore, even if people dislike him for other reasons, he's actually good at it.

1. Very few people can open a movie. There are no new movie "stars" and while the old ones may not have as much power as they used to, they can still get a few butts in the seats and get projects made. Their projects get made for that reason.

2. There are less projects being produced. We're up from post-pandemic levels but still not great. AI is coming for everyone.

3. The projects tend to focus on the same things with the same people with the same age range.

It's why when a show like, "Man on the Inside" features an older cast you see every name that used to pop up all the time in films and on tv shows. It's the new "Grace & Frankie" for older actors.
