The LGB "invisibilized" Marsha and Sylvia and took credit for their achievements!

[quote]Peraza continued, “However, trans people have always been at the forefront of LGBTQ+ activism and movement-making, yet we have not reaped the same benefits of our cis gay white counterparts. Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera were pushed to the sidelines by gay rights groups after the watershed moment that was Stonewall, with their contributions diminished and invisibilized for decades, by members of their own community who deemed them and other transgender and gender-expansive people as being too complicated to support, too controversial, and not having enough potential to assimilate into society for acceptance.”

The author is "Pax Ahimsa Gethen (they/them) is a queer agender writer, editor, and curator."

You're trolling, obviously.

This is just some obscure writer on the Internet. Who cares?

by Anonymousreply 1August 7, 2025 7:37 PM

No one cares anymore. Stop trying to get people riled up about trans issues. The planet is burning and Trump's masked goon squad is arresting people without cause and sending them to El Salvador.

This guy kinda says it all.

What does "gender-expansive" mean? Is that fat trans people?

Are you INVISIBILIZING them, r1?

by Anonymousreply 6August 7, 2025 7:46 PM

There is terrible trans hate, unconstitutional harassment, and an attack on civil rights, but it ain't in that story, Paxi Baby.

Their achievements: shooting heroin and stealing.

This is what our universities are churning out. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

by Anonymousreply 10August 7, 2025 7:56 PM

I guess the anti trans troll is off her meds again-searching for obscure articles to post. You won! Trans people are loathed by the government and are losing their rights in courts. You must be so proud!

R10 - it's not the universities - this is what social media echo chambers are turning out.

by Anonymousreply 12August 8, 2025 1:09 AM

All it would take would be for one Democratic politician to have the fucking balls to say the following:

1. There is no such thing as a non-binary person. Everyone is either male or female.

2. We should not be transitioning children.

3. Trans women do not belong in women’s sports

4. Trans adults have the right to transition and live the life they want, and they deserve to be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect.

That alone would go miles in getting normal people back on our side again. But no, that will never happen because they’re all afraid of the Twitter mob.

They’re intertwined.

I’ll give her this. She does look about as good as her name sounds.

Assigned media is owned by Evan Urquhart formerly Vanessa Vitello Urquhart a 5’2 trans man who was a butch lesbian until around 2016 and before that just a regular lesbian. Urquhart thinks of themself as a trans masculine passing trans man, despite being 5’2, having a squeaky voice and not being able to rid themselves of having a female form. Evan/Vanessa’s saving grace and perhaps why she thinks she can pass is that he was ugly as a woman and a man.

In the beginning, the TQ+ created the universe, but cis-het God took credit!

[quote]with their contributions diminished and invisibilized for decades, by members of their own community

It really is shameful the way the tranny junky hooker community turned its back on ol’ Marsh and Syl.
