Sometimes, there’s no meaningful explanation for a straight man’s flirty behavior. Happened to me a handful of times when I was younger. (Much younger!)

(2) He’s baiting you. Because he’s cruel.

(3) You start hanging out. He freaks out at any suggestion that, well, seems to line up with your perceptions.
