Torture at “Alligator Alcatraz” - phone call audio reveals brutal torture at the hands of guards
A spokesperson for Florida Division of Emergency Management [FDEM] denied the prisoner’s claims made to his girlfriend, telling Status Coup they are false and that reports on horrific conditions at Alligator Alcatraz have been “repeatedly debunked” (for the record, none of the ample reporting about inhumane and unsafe conditions inside Alligator Alcatraz have been debunked).
On top of a large swath of reporting confirming the inhumane conditions and treatments, a former guard at Alligator Alcatraz came out on Tuesday, blowing the whistle on what she called “inhumane” and “miserable” conditions for prisoners.

“There was so much abuse—handcuffed, they stepped on his head, about six guards jumped on him, they hit us, they kicked us, so much abuse, too much abuse, so much abuse that we’re enduring here in Alligator…I can’t take it anymore. Where are the Human Resources? It’s unbearable here.
They had this boy pinned to the floor, and we were all against the wall, all of us. We were all handcuffed and couldn’t do anything because there are like 200 of them, understand? And we’re talking about 18-20 people, and they still abused them—those 3 guys were handcuffed, like 7 or 8 people jumped on them, stepped on their heads with their feet, rolled them on the floor, dragged them, that’s what happened to these 3 guys, they abused these 3 guys.”
On the phone call with his girlfriend, the Cuban prisoner described guards as inexperienced, racist, and power hungry. Alarmingly, he also described sexual aggression by the guards, who he alleged routinely groped prisoners in an attempt to confiscate food.

So, in other words, these "guards" have been recruited from rank-and-file MAGAts/Republicans.

It's not surprising when you look at the type of men who are often attracted to these kind of roles.
Look at the allegations of torture that came out of Guantanamo Bay. This is no different.

They're not recruited, they sign up willingly. Did you really think they were progressive Democrats?

Honestly the level a atrocities Trump is committing is just insane. No due process, deportation to hostile foreign countries and now building a makeshift prison to torture people? And people are doing nothing about it.

There may be abuse but Alligator Alcatraz facility is much better than any of the Florida prisons or prisons in all the southern states.
It's cleaner, less people to a cell and the food is 100% better. And there are more bathrooms

They're making a fortune doing this. I saw an want ad on a job website and they're able to get a lot of overtime (but they really don't have to work all of it). I think they get 20 or more hours a week of overtime.
