The Resurgence of Conversion Therapy
Long, depressing CNN article about the newly resurgent "ex-gay" movement.
'Conversion therapy is still practiced in nearly every state, monitoring groups say. Efforts by right-wing lawmakers to repeal city and state-wide bans have claimed their first successes. And former leaders of the “ex-gay” religious movement told CNN the practice is enjoying a resurgence — this time in more cloaked, subtle, secretive forms.'
'Soon the ex-gay movement will have its day in court. A challenge to Colorado’s law prohibiting conversion therapy on minors is under consideration by the Supreme Court, in a case that imperils all existing bans against conversion therapy in the US. Justices are expected to hear arguments this fall, with a ruling expected by next June.'

It hasn't helped that in the past decade, gay porn has consisted of gay performers dabbling in hetero/trans sex, which gives credence to the belief that it's a choice.

for the shrewd types it's perfect. they don't care one bit about the other gays suffering. they'll use it as an opportunity to reform their image, and then carry on being a whore in private. a lot of these magas feel that being gay is fine if you have the proper shame to keep it behind closed doors. of course they all know the gop is full of faggots. it's about submitting to the dominance of a certain culture and image - it's always been understood that with some wealth or power you can do whatever you want in private.
