R1, it makes her look Simian, which worked perfectly in Carrie, especially in the aftermath of the pig blood scene.

You have to ask if she got a nose job?

R2 - yeah, I was trying to find the word for it - simian wasn't what leaped to mind. Her nose looked weird - like 2 large holes in her face.

They chopped off too much obviously - and you can't add it back. It's like she doesn't have a nose - just 2 large nostrils.

R4, the way they shoot her in Carrie in certain scenes--like the post pig blood scene--really makes use of that look you mentioned.

What was wrong with her old nose? She totally fucked it up.

She and no nose Nanette Fabray are about tied for the worst nose jobs outside the Jackson family.

I mean it’s drastic but I truly doubt she would have been as effective in her greatest roles, Carrie, three women, Cole miners daughter, with the original nose. She was really able to leverage those fine , almost embryonic features to incredible effect. I can’t fault the choice.

I think some of the Jackson family looked fine after their first nosejobs - but the successive ones were a disaster. I think the nose is the surgery you have to get right the first time otherwise you're fucked.

R8, you hust described her perfectly. She looks like an enbryo/fetus. Not simian but like the sonogram pics of unborn fetuses.

In the 70s those cookie cutter nose jobs were common. Michelle Pfeiffer had one too, but she had it corrected in the 80s.

Michele Lee and the Jackson Family also got those noses.

R12 - ah yes - Michele Lee - another nose that always bothered me. Now I see the similarities among these celebs and the chops they got.

Michelle Pfeiffer's never bothered me as much, but it was always way too impossibly small and thin. I thought it was her real nose - and she looked gorgeous - but there was always something about the proportions that didn't make any sense.

Omg....she really botched her nose. The before pic 1000x better. Anyway, she's old now so who cares.

She had a superb career post nose job, so obviously audiences were fine with it.

I think that even back in her "That Girl" days, Marlo's nose was a bit too chopped. It did transform her from a cute Lebanese lady to an American glamour girl so I understand why she went for it. However, something just a notch less drastic would have looked more natural. I find it difficult to look at Sissy. Those nostrils are too distracting. Her original nose was fine. Her hair-do in that photo is very unflattering, though.

Marlo reportedly had 3, count em, 3 nose jobs.

Her nose before the nose job fit her face absolutely perfectly. I can't believe she fucked with it...there was nothing wrong with her nose at all.

Those photos don't really look like her. I found this one which is supposed to one from her high school year book. Maybe it's the same person as above, minus all the makeup. Her nose change made a huge difference to her looks.

They are her r30, they’ve been used for years in the “stars before they were famous” articles.

Props to her for still being able to show her face on the big screen after such a botched procedure. I wouldn't be able to do it.

But r33 the face she bought made her famous. As pointed out earlier, she probably wouldn’t have been cast as a timid waif in the roles that established her legacy with that more confident natural shnoz.

Gurl, how is that even possible when her MJ nose is RIGHT THERE. I loved her in Bloodline, but you could almost see up her brain in many, many scenes, that shit was crazy.

R36, at 5'2", Sissy was too short to be a fashion model, but she had the perfect anti-establishment look of the times and was signed on as a photo model.

I thought at first that photo was of a young Suzanne Somers. Or Sandy Duncan.

Rip Torn was Sissy's cousin and she lived with him and his wife when she arrived in New York. Sissy tried to make it as a singer under the name Rainbow.

Her Skeletor nose always distracts me when I watch a film she is in. I just watch Straight Story (David Lynch) the other night and she plays a supporting role, and is supposed to be an average person yet she has this severe nose job. I can look past it, but it's... there.
