They are my favorite American 60s band. It's a shame but the consensus among Millennials and Gen Z is that they are a pretentious, overrated band. I think too many people base this opinion on Jim Morrison and the first album. The rest of their music doesn't really sound pretentious to me. Jim could be pretentious, sure, but he was a very good singer (and the other members of the band were very talented too and don't get enough credit). While very good, I think the debut is a bit dated now thanks to keyboard sound. Strange Days and LA Woman (their true masterpiece) have aged much better. Any other big fans on here?

I listened to them a lot in high school. I still like some of their songs but I’m not a huge fan. I’m a millennial btw.

R1, millennial here and I didn't really "get" them until the past few years. I just liked completely different music in my younger years so I didn't appreciate the British Invasion or American rock bands of the 60s and 70s.
