'Richest Man in Hollywood' Accused of Grooming, Abusing Estranged Ex
Entertainment mogul David Geffen is facing a bombshell lawsuit from his soon-to-be-ex-husband David Armstrong, who also uses the name Donovan Michaels.
Michaels claims he was trapped in a cycle of control and emotional relationship that started as sex work. The couple reportedly did not sign a prenuptial agreement.
Law&Crime’s Elizabeth Millner breaks down the new lawsuit with criminal and civil attorney Mauricio Padilla.

Donovan is 32 - way way way past the age for grooming.
The pre-nup must be that water-tight for him to do this.
Donovan - take all the nice things you've been given and get the fuck out and stay quiet. Geffen has 9 billion dollars - he's got all day to do make sure you never work again or worse.
You played an old billionaire - congratulations - but you're not going to Anna Nicole your way out of this, gold digger.

They don't have one. Which makes me wonder why the younger guy feels the need to do this. He should be set for life, even after just two years.

No pre-nup?
David must be getting senile then. This is going to get U-G-L-Y.
What the fuck was he thinking? Does he have early dementia?
There's got to be something in place by his attorneys.

R11 David Geffin is 82 years old. It wouldn't be "early" dementia.

During the marriage, Geffen didn't want him "modeling" and advancing his own illustrious career. That's a whole 2 years of marriage he needs to be compensated for 😃!
It's funny that Geffen doesn't appear to give 2 shits about any of this ruining his reputation. He's worth 8.8 billion dollars and he's 82 years old. He probably glad that it's coming our that he was pounding a 30-something year old hottie. Those miraculous little blue pills!

I know younger guys can't wrap their heads around this concept, but 82 year olds have no interest in sex.

If they were married in California, he's entitled to HALF of Geffen's fortune, regardless of how long they were married.
This guy really hit the jackpot!

R22 California is a community property state. He is entitled to half of his personal income (not business holdings) for those 2 years only. He could be entitled to half of the appreciation of his personal properties (certainly the marital home) over those 2 years as well. He would get nothing close to half of his total $8.8 billion net worth, but he's not going to be poor either.

If I had 9 billion, I'd pay off the ex asap to avoid an embarrassing public fight. Geffen must be kind of an idiot or just really greedy. This is like when Paul McCartney publicly fought Heather Mills instead of just writing a check.

R24 I agree as far as Geffen is concerned. He is enormously wealthy and could have just written a check in exchange for a non-disclosure agreement and been done with it.
Heather Mills on the other hand was an evil greedy bitch. She was basically told off by the judge and ended up looking really bad in that divorce. Paul came out looking far more sympathetic.

Interesting, R23.
I'm guessing that he's still set for life!
Lucky guy.
Not bad for two years of marriage. And it wasn't like it was a painful two years. He got to live the life of a billionaire, no matter how much he might have been repulsed by Geffen.
Now if he's smart, he will take whatever is offered to him (as long as it's reasonable), and run!

Most (if not all) of Geffen's wealth is in some kind of trust, that can't be touched. Someone explained it in one of the other threads.

R28 I saw that too but if anyone thinks this ho is divorcing David fucking Geffen without walking away with at least a million dollars in assets and equity then you’re fucking brain dead.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 7, 2025 6:35 AM

The reason David Geffen isn't too concerned is that his assets are basically untouchable. Anybody who thinks that there was some sort of legal fuck up doesn't know much about Mr. Geffen.
If he's not embarrassed by all of this, all the better.

R29 - a million is pocket-money to Geffen. I'm sure he has that already in gifts, cars, etc.
Obviously this is a legal tactic to try to extract more $ - trying to publicly embarrass him so that he will cut a check and walk away. It's a disgusting move - but it often works.
I don't see Geffen going for it though. There should be legal ramifications for making false accusations in a civil case.
Bryan Johnson, that strange longevity guy, just concluded a 2 year case with his former girlfriend alleging all types of abuse to extract more $$ from him. He already gave her a few million - and they were never married. But that wasn't enough. The judge in the case reprimanded her attorneys for what was clearly and extortion case - and she ended up losing and having to pay HIM. What did he do? He put the money she owed him into a trust for her healthcare and didn't take a penny.
My point is that these cases are predictable but there's little protections to stop people from completely fabricating stories and dragging celebrities and rich people through the mud. It's gross and keeps happening over and over.
This kid better watch himself - take the things you have and the settlement - because it will still be substantial for the average person. If he thinks he's going to walk away with tens or hundreds of millions, if not billions - then he needs to put down the weed and get back to reality.

How does one go about getting a short-term marriage to a wealthy person and live in comfort for the rest of your life with the divorce settlement?
I had an ad in the personals section for months seeking an octogenarian, wheel-chair bound billionaire with no family. No hits yet. I'm open to suggestions.
Obviously, asking for A FRIEND.

Not sure how exactly you 'groom' a 30 year old man who escorts and has done multiple porn films - but I'm sure the attorney will try and find a way!
The real question is how the hell this billionaire married a sex worker. Make it make sense.
Was it so he was exclusively Geffen's and that was the only way?
Donovan is a good looking guy - but a little goofy looking and his dick is fine, but nothing to write home about.

R38 - do you have poor reading comprehension skills? I said his dick was nothing to write home about. I said he was a good looking guy.
But LA is full of hot people. And they're not former escorts, go-go dancers and porn actors.
He's fine for a paid escort session - but I don't understand why you would put a ring on it.
